EL ANTIPERFUME

De lo más loco que puedes acercarte a la nariz. Aquí todo huele a químico y a sintético, las notas declaradas no significan nada. No conozco el olor del popper real, pero oliendo esto me hago a la idea. La salida es super potente con una estela brutal al menos durante media hora, después la intensidad va bajando. Aquí hay poca evolución empiezan frutas rojas ácidas y ese olor químico adictivo, tan adictivo como el olor a la gasolina (no se parece a la gasolina), simplemente va yendo a menos, no tiene una duración alta pero si una proyección muy alta. Solo existe formato de 30ml en roll-on. para mi es un tesoro, para la gran mayoría es un despropósito.

Fortunately, I didn't grow up in the 70s!

I had no idea about the story behind the fragrance Popper-Pop by Filippo Sorcinelli, or more precisely the "Popper," which you’ll have to Google yourself; I did it today.

Unaware of what I had in front of me, I wore my sample of the fragrance Popper-Pop by Filippo Sorcinelli for the first time today. Some time ago, I had bought one or two tester kits from the Italian niche brand, and I had tried the fragrance Slightly Bitch, which I also didn’t like; both are from the same collection, but I approached this fragrance with an open mind!

Popper-Pop starts off terribly. Plastic, it burns, an incredibly piercing, chemical smell; someone here mentioned a "chemistry set," which is quite accurate. Incredibly unpleasant, and this note lingers. Fruity notes? Gum? I smell nothing of the sort and certainly nothing pleasant. After a while, the fragrance changes a little, and a slightly fruity note, which comes across as quite dark, appears. Unfortunately, that's not all; as time goes on, the fragrance also starts to smell sweaty in my perception. It gives me a bit of a vibe of an old man who hasn’t washed in a long time and is wearing his old clothes.

Now that I’ve read the story of the fragrance, without ever having personally smelled its inspiration, everything can be placed a bit better in context and makes more sense, but that doesn’t change the fact that the fragrance still doesn’t smell good.

The longevity of the fragrance is quite good; the sillage is not particularly strong (thank God). I actually felt, which doesn’t often happen to me with perfumes, a fear of being perceived as stinky by those around me because this fragrance truly has a very unpleasant, biting, and for me, sweaty note. Since I didn’t live in the 70s and also have no significant connection to the history of the fragrance, which is indeed extravagant and interesting, this doesn’t make the fragrance any better for me. However, I think that I now don’t need to enter a dark room for the rest of my life to know what it smells like in there: sweat, animalic, something dirty, something ordinary, chemistry - Filippo Sorcinelli - Popper-Pop - perhaps the most unpleasant fragrance I have ever smelled!

Would you like some poppers, Mason?

Why do I hear Hannibal Lecter saying this line when I unscrew the foam stopper, which is sold as a work of art by the esteemed Mr. Sorcinelli?
Why do I feel the urge to slice my face off with a shard from a mirror and feed it to the dogs, while an older man stands by saying "not enough yet"?

I was already aware, just from the name and especially from the overarching theme of this collection, that this fragrance could be a bit unorthodox.
But that it became unbearable - I didn't expect that.
It truly lives up to the name "Poppers" - anyone who has experience or may have it will agree.

A nice, expensive gag that is a real eye-catcher in the perfume collection, but unfortunately unbearable for the next person!
But thank you, Filippo Sorcinelli, for not holding back and bringing out something innovative - even if it just isn't wearable.
