Nothing extreme, but there's some attitude!

Quite a class act, really (really!) similar to several niche scents playing the “dark spicy-patchouli card”. The thickness, the dark refinement, the velvety texture, it’s quite all there. And apparently, back then the “extreme” flanker of a fragrance still had some meaning: this smells in fact clearly connected to Armani Attitude, but as you may expect, drifting towards a darker, bolder version of it. The key notes – patchouli and dusty amber - are still there, but they’re just all “amplified” and made denser and gloomier, mostly thanks to a clever use of spices, something “nutty” I can’t detect more precisely (slightly balmy, like the balmy woody notes used in Escada Magnetism for Men) and a louder presence of musk. Attitude was smoother and smokier, this is richer, more “challenging” in a way, but also more sophisticated for me – just in a darker way, less versatile, less office-safe, maybe a bit harder to pull off. The “night” version of Attitude, shortly, made to please that “night” crowd instead of coworkers and daytime contacts. A sort of more mainstream version of Donna Karan Black Cashmere and similar fragrances, even with a touch of Norma Kamali’s metallic incense, and somehow “Lutensian” too thanks to something resinous and thick resembling to fir balsam, and to that balmy-nutty note. Crap longevity with a nearly-only ambery drydown, but worthy a try.

Why so low rated ?

Guys, dunno why is this fragrance scored that low here. I had it many years ago (2011) and it was still going on the market by that time. Now it’s very hard to find and it costs too much. This was by far my strongest fragrance. Even if I had to compare it with any other that I have tested until today. I remember that I used 4 sprays one time (instead of 2), 1 to the back of my head, 1 on the chest and 1 on each sholder. Those sholders smelled for about 1 month. If you want to believe me, of course. Eveytime I opened the closet were that sprayed jacket was, I felt like the fragrance was still projecting even after 2 weeks. I mean even after too weeks ? Wtf ? Guess what ? I picked that jacket for a date (after 2 weeks with that fragrance on) and I dated a girl. I still remember, late fall, pretty windy outside. As soon as I got into my car, I already felt the fragrance (from my jacket only) spread itself into the car. I didn’t sprayed myself anymore that night. I left only with the ghost of the fragrance on my jacket’s shoulders from 2 weeks ago. The girl noticed so fast my fragrance and told me it was so sexy. Like never before. She called me the next day to tell me that she is dying to know the fragrance. A slightly woody, coffe-based mixed with that patchouli and dark notes, cardamom- lemony which gives it a perfect dark, masculine&seductive kind of smell for fall and winter. Great for dates and special nights. No casual either or blind buy. Test it first.
People, this is my story. I don’t know what batch I had at that time, what was going but that fragrance was all of me. I loved it since first day. It was a blind buy and it was the best blind buy ever. I think I will not buy it again because I see that is scored very low here and maybe it’s not that strong like before. Maybe it suffered some reformulations or something.
I am not paid by anyone to “advertise” it this way
but It is my favourite. Great looking bottle, great sprayer. A bit pricy (even in the past) but it all worth it. Performance ? (at that time, in 2011)
Unbelievable !! 14+ hours on the skin only (always still catching it in the next day ) Projecting ? No problem sir. 6 hours + for skin. Monstruos projection. 2 sprays on clothes and bam ! 2 weeks later you can still smell it on your clothes. And pretty good, not hardly (like a bit lighter projection).
I repet, God knows what fragrance I catched by then or what batch it was but it was out of this world. And the smell ? AMAZING+ (lol)
Overall rating 20/10.

A Hint of Orange Peel with Vanilla Powder

I bought this perfume for just under 63 euros but only later checked here. The longevity is often questioned. I would like to add the following after testing it for 3 days:

Attitude Extreme is truly very mild to subtle and hardly noticeable. However, I was able to perceive it for about 8-10 hours. In my opinion, it is a very elegant business perfume, but it is also pleasant to wear and does not overwhelm you. It is very unobtrusive and definitely has class, which I attribute to the typical Armani powder scent (lipstick). At first, I thought it was an absolute mistake of a purchase, but I am now convinced that it performs its duty very well. I would describe the note as having a bit of orange and maybe cinnamon and/or vanilla. In my collection, among Fuel for Live, JPG, and other "fragrance hammers," finally something subtle ;). I think the scent is good to wear all year round. The sillage is, I think, rather weak. It also depends on the situation; if you don't want to stand out (business dinners, etc.), it is perfect. The bottle is amazing in Zippo style and very practical; I give it 100 points.

Short addendum:
Today is Sunday, I have nothing planned, and I just had to go to the bathroom to spray some on again; it simply smells delicious... ;)

Until you learn to truly appreciate some fragrances ...

Back when it was released, I bought it, but I didn't like it after a few tests at home. I found the combination of star anise, coffee, and incense too strange and too strong. I was also too young for such a fragrance. I dismissed it as an "old man" scent and gave it away.

Time went by, and it was discontinued. I often thought about it, wondering how I would perceive it today.

Until today came, and I managed to snag 30ml at a bargain price with a lot of luck.

After 10 years, it doesn't smell as strong anymore, but it is still present. I like it better in this muted form. It leans towards a barbershop scent. Cardamom, star anise, and cedar are paired with coffee and incense. Woody-spicy, with coffee providing the main undertone throughout the fragrance. At the spray nozzle, it smells wonderfully of lemon, but unfortunately, this almost completely fades after spraying. It didn't become a hit, which is why it was discontinued. I have personal memories of it, and it seems it wanted to come back to me.

The bottle in black glass with a flip cap already impressed me back then. Very beautifully elegant and classy.

Overall, not a bad fragrance, but it lacked that certain something.

Freshly Brewed....Earth

It is rarely worth telling more about oneself. One such case was when I told a buddy about my passion, and he brought me a few bottles the next time; so: Thank you, Maxim.

Attitude Extreme values earthiness and lemons. At the start, the lemon is still strong, accompanied by green and a lot of black cardamom. The former is sweet, fine, aromatic, and slightly spicy; the latter is earthy, bitter, "reminiscent of camphor." Coffee is also present early on, recognizable but not as loud as the black cardamom. The cedar and the incense ("pine-like," "coniferous," slightly lemony) also do not come to the forefront. Patchouli soon appears as well, without making a significant impact.

The sillage is rather close to the body, and the longevity (for me) is unsatisfactory. Attitude Extreme usually lasts not even 6 hours, mostly around 4 hours.

I find it interesting, a lot of earth and lemon with coffee. Coffee with green cardamom, which seems a bit powdery, reminds me of Valentino Uomo, but that's where the similarities end. The fragrance would have benefited greatly from vetiver; the oil is said to be a great binding agent and would provide more longevity to lighter compositions.

So, consistently earthy and bitter with coffee, initially sweet and noticeably citrusy, later not so sweet, instead slightly woody. Moderate volume and disappointing longevity.
