Made to what?

Aaaaw, this is so awfully cheap and uncreative. Calone notes, melonal (the fruity stuff) on a plummy-milky ketones accord, a polished citral note, spices (notably cinnamon) and a sad, thin, dry, rubbery leathery note. I did the effort of picking up some notes but basically it’s just a metallic, plain and dull fragrance which smells of pure office-safe “nothingness”. Exuding bespoke elegance like a pair or supermarket socks. Bring bang Tom Ford!

A faithful companion

When I received Gucci Made to Measure as a gift from a good friend over 10 years ago, I never thought that this fragrance would remain my absolute favorite for so long. It has accompanied me through many years and numerous memories, always with its unmistakable charm.

Gucci Made to Measure is a versatile fragrance that can be worn all year round. Whether summer or winter, it always fits and lends a pleasant, fresh note. The fragrance opens with an interesting combination of bergamot, lavender and aniseed, rounded off with spicy notes of cinnamon and nutmeg. The heart of the fragrance, dominated by plum and water lily, gives it a floral and slightly sweet nuance, while the base notes of leather, amber and patchouli add a warm, masculine depth.

Unfortunately, I have to admit that the longevity of Made to Measure is not the best. After about 6-7 hours, the fragrance evaporates noticeably, especially if you don't spray generously. But despite this small weakness, the fragrance has always been well received. Friends and colleagues have often asked me about it and complimented me on it, which has confirmed my choice.

Even though Made to Measure receives rather average ratings here on Parfumo, it was and remains a special fragrance for me. It's not the loudest or most striking fragrance, but that's exactly what makes it so pleasant and versatile for everyday use.

I really don't understand why this scent is so badly received here while it is called "hidden gem" in the English-speaking world, for example.
And I also think that Made to Measure is a little insider tip. It smells very reserved and modern, but at the same time sweet and seductive in its heart note, which is probably due to the berry and plum notes.
The prelude is a bit peppery and fresh at the same time. The performance is also not as bad as everyone claims. Here the talk is of a maximum of 1-2 hours, while the fragrance lasts about 6 hours.
So if you want an elegant, fresh and sweet scent, which is very reserved but still very present, Gucci Made to Measure is a real insider tip. Since the price has also dropped significantly, it only makes this fragrance even more attractive.
