Beautiful and stunning perfume!

I am pleasantly surprised. I wasn't expecting much since I'm not that much of a floral fragrance type of girl, but I WILL be moving on to a 10ml travel size once I'm through with the sampler vial.

So, everything starts off with a fresh zing of juicy and tangy citrus. After a few minutes, the jasmine unfurls its creamy, white floral scent and it is a beauty, let me tell you! I could now sense the black pepper giving the juice a very uplifting vibe. It's giving me vintage, but at the same time, modern esthetic. Beautiful and well blended together, I instantly fell in love. It's soft, feminine, lovely and just so nice! The roses blended themselves very well to tone down the indolic aspect of the jasmine. After a while there is this woody but creamy aspect that's coming through thanks to the sandalwood, but the jasmine does remain the star all throughout. I usually don't like patchouli, but this time I barely smelled it since the jasmine was in the spotlight. All in all it's a beautiful fragrance if you're searching for a perfume where jasmine is the main character. It's pretty, smells great and is a great crowd-pleaser!

Wonderful jasmine composition

Jasmine can be green and tart and a little bittersweet, reminiscent of tea; it can smell creamy like a milky tea; or floral like a sweet white jasmine blossom. I can feel all these aspects of jasmine here. It is an ode to the different sides of jasmine. Patchouli, which usually dominates and sometimes ruins a perfume for me, is here only very quietly in the background, almost imperceptible, like a bit of green damp meadow. I didn't notice it right away, and that's saying something (I'm usually very quick to give up). Sandalwood gives the whole thing stability and depth and variance and makes it long-lasting and not trivial - the fragrance therefore does not disappear immediately, like some other perfumes that want to appear close to nature. It remains and smells bitter and tart and sweet and moist and floral - a wonderfully mature perfume, an ode to jasmine.

Jasmine and white floral dominant fragrances are often hard for me. They can be fine as supporting notes but when they are front and center many of them to turn very dirty smelling on my skin or just become too screechy and headache inducing for me. However Gorgeous Jasmine does none of those things and the only real way to describe this scent is pretty. It probably won't blow anyone's mind for uniqueness but it is still a lovely, feminine floral fragrance.

I am a big believer that softer and easy reach scents very much have a place in a perfume collection and not everything needs to be some great masterpiece. I can respect a fragrance that sets out to be good at what it says on the tin. Gorgeous Jasmine is precisely that. The jasmine here is not a dirty white floral, rather it is fresh and green. The rose very much takes a back seat and lets the jasmine sparkle. I said this also in my review of Gorgeous Magnolia but I really like the way Gucci does patchouli in this line. Patchouli is such a hit or miss note but here it is, not a dirty patchouli but simply a very light earthiness. When combined with the creaminess of the sandalwood, magnolia and benozoin and the greeness of the jasmine, the entire effect is realistic jasmine and fresh, clean feeling.

Very pretty, easy reach daily scent that feels appropriate for any situation and probably could be worn year round if you're fine with skin scents. My husband seems to like this one too because he is not someone who comments regularly on my perfume, but every time I wear this he tells me I smell nice.

Absolutely love the packaging and atomizer of this line. The scent is like a 7.5-8 but these bottles and atomizers are 10/10 for me. I own a 50 ml bottle and could see myself repurchasing.

Once again, a designer flop

Despite not liking the fragrances from Gucci I have tried as of yet, I have always been circling around Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia. Something about it spoke to me, but I only tried it quickly and with a small spray on the wrist. It was nice, but I wasn't enamored. Then, suddenly, Gorgeous Jasmine was launched and something about the two bottles called my name, so I tried it on a paper strip and I just had to try it properly!
Initially quite sweet and of course, floral. Somewhat soapy, which I didn't expect when trying it on a paper strip.
I would have loved the juicy fruitiness of mandarin, which is listed in the composition, but it is nowhere to be found.

After dry down, Gorgeous Jasmine becomes quite powdery.
And alas, it is boring. Absolutely boring, like any other Gucci fragrance I have tried...
It's been a while since I've reviewed a fragrance based on the scent on a paper strip, hasn't it?
So, because of the difference, I've sprayed generously on a paper strip and let me tell you, the mandarin is detectable even from afar!
I sprayed the test strip and layed it to evaporate the alcohol, just in arms reach, I could smell the fruity mandarin. After dry down, it is much milder and up close, Gorgeous Jasmine is a fruity and juicy floral! This is what made me so intrigued in the first place, the charming fruitiness with the mild floral in the back. On skin, however, Gorgeous Jasmine is nothing gorgeous, just a floral simpleton.
So simple and generic that I'm struggling to describe it, whereas on paper many words come to mind; fruity, fresh, feminine, delicate, perfect for summer, and even spring, a little peachy, reminding me of The Scent by Boss, I could go on.

Once again, I must admit that designer fragrances aren't for me.

Delicate flower on a green branch

That’s exactly what is says – Gorgeous Jasmine. I received a tester as a gift with my other purchase, and I must say I didn’t expect much because I am not very into realistic jasmine or hard-core white florals, but this is so beautiful! At first blast, it’s fresh and floral – just what you’d expect. Then, an hour or so later, jasmine blooms into more intense, soapier self that I would whole-heartedly recommend to all white-flower fans. Then rose joins it producing warmer, sunnier impression, and jasmine begins to remind me mock-orange flowers, which I adore, with slight accents of solar notes and green leaves. Then I begin noticing magnolia coupled with benzoin, reminding me a bit of Zara Violet blossom or even Mugler’s Alien. Then sandalwood adds substance and creaminess, making it warmer.

Also, ever-so-delicate patchouli keeping it mysterious with a cool waft here and there! The tester leaflet didn’t list patchouli note and I thought I was imagining it half of the day, until I looked GFGJ up here and was reassured that I’m not hallucinating.

This is the best jasmine that I ever tried – not too intense, but not obscured by other ingredients, rather, tenderly supported by them, like a flower floating in sweet nectar. Other jasmine scents often peddle jasmine so much that you would be better off just using essential oil instead. Yet Gucci Flora creates an impression of a fresh delicate flower on a green branch, and it’s lovely. It makes you feel lovely too. Very inspiring perfume.

If I had to ascribe a personality to it, I would say it’s a young girl walking in the morning to her first office job, full of hopes and ambition, willing to impress, but also daydreaming about love. She wears white blouse, minimalistic sparkles of jewelry, and wind is playing with her shiny loose hair.

I perceive it as a perfect day or even morning scent, lovely for spring, cooler summer days, and early autumn. It has the freshness and the warmth enough to cover most of the year except the dramatic extremes. I am so amazed by it that I must post it right away, so no comment on longevity yet, but I plan to update.
