my first perfume love

i got a decant tester of this a few months ago and after the first wear i knew i needed a bottle of this. i can't stop smelling myself when i wear this. it's soooo addicting to me and i can't wait to wear it all summer. gorgeous orchid is pure delicious ozonic vanilla orchid, and it wasn't until i read other reviews that i could smell banana. there's definitely banana laffy taffy in the background somehow but despite hating actual bananas i love banana laffy taffy so it doesn't bother me at all lmao. it's a very yummy scent!

Perfect vanilla for summer

I smelled this when it first came out but wasn't wowed. But I'm trying to use up all my little samples I've collected over the years, and I reached for this today. Wow. This is not a gourmand vanilla. This is a gorgeous, feminine, ozonic vanilla that is so elevated and elegant. The ozonic notes make it fresh and absolutely perfect for summer and hot weather. This is a clean girl vanilla. I absolutely would buy this when summer comes around again!

Clean Vanilla

If I think about bananas and look at the yellow bottle, I vaguely smell banana taffy. But no, this is not a banana scent. It is a creamy vanilla orchid. I typically don’t like orchid but in this it keeps the vanilla from going gourmand while keeping a clean sweetness. My husband thinks it smells like sugar cookies when smelled from the nozzle, but I feel it is much more complex when sprayed.

I was looking for a clean scent that didn’t lean aquatic or citrus for Fall and this smells nice on crisp mornings. I think it will be better for spring though as it is more floral verses cozy.

Longevity is surprising for how soft it is. I can smell it on me for easy six hours, but I like to carry a decant and respray at four hours. There is not a huge sillage, the scent bubble is intimate yet persistent.

A solid okay in my book.

From Dislike to Love

I didn’t expect to love Flora Gorgeous Orchid - in fact, when I smelled it in store first I was unimpressed and even disliked it, so I wrote it off. Then I tried "Atheeri / أثيري | Lattafa / لطافة" and fell head over heels for the scent DNA, so revisited Flora Gorgeous Orchid expecting to not need it since I had Atheeri. Gorgeous Orchid has a banana note at the opening that I can’t get enough of, and to my nose it’s much fruitier and bubblier than Atheeri. I own and love both, and I’m so glad I revisited Gorgeous Orchid.

Banana-Mango Lassi

I`ve been giving wide berth to Gucci perfumes, especially this Flora collection. Something about the bottle design didn`t appeal to me, I imagined the scents inside to be boring, average, I don`t know why exactly I never felt too keen to try them. So imagine my surprise meeting this cute mango lassi with banana in Flora Gorgeous Orchid. I don`t pick up much vanilla, just a mash-up of the mango beverage plus that L`Oreal Gentle Kids` Shampoo Banana Flavored, the one in small bottles shaped like colorful yellow fish. It was such a pleasant discovery, a lot of memories, breakfasts in Hyderabad and washing my baby brother`s hair with his favorite American shampoo when he was a toddler. A fun, friendly summer fragrance that I would consider purchasing when I manage to finish something in my collection.
