Anniversary fragrance
From whom I received this bottling of "Place Rouge" with the very small remainder, I do not even know.
I managed during the cleanup of my bottlings to get reasonably the view (that's not easy with the amount that lies here and will not last long).
I was astonished to discover that I had completely overlooked "Place Rouge" until now: how could this have happened?
This condition is now changing, thereby, however, also empties my small glass atomizer.
Wherever this leftover scent came from, it's worth acknowledging in a comment.
I am currently browsing enthusiastically in the treasures of Guerlain anyway; oh, what more there is to discover.

"Place Rouge" comes from a special edition launched by the house of Guerlain, which also includes "Prima Ballerina Le Boishoi".
(Gladly I still remember that Silversternacht, in which I wrote this fragrant dance of words.)
And of course "Place Rouge" is also a real Guerlain and not only because of the flacon.

Up to the earthy-gourmandigen finale offers itself a nevertheless quite exciting Duftbild dar:
The example of the "electrically charged atmosphere of a thunderstorm" is cleverly chosen.
Orange blossom, perhaps also neroli and bergamot still enjoy the summer warmth and send their fragrances generously; while rosemary is already a little prickly. As if it already anticipates the raindrops that will soon hit them all and leave shiny pearls behind.
Despite their robust outward appearance, rosemary plants, like the herbaceous lavender, are very sensitive and their aroma intensity changes under the influence of the weather.
I could often experience this phenomenon on my balcony, which was "boarded" by these two varieties for many years; unfortunately, this winter everything froze.
But back to "Place Rouge": the dark clouds that gather felt, also make the floral world of this fragrance image attentive: Jasmine and violet exude their own heavy scents even more intensely, the violet vanilla note of heliotrope - chosen here at the heart of the arrangement instead of the sensual vanilla - harmoniously tunes into this duo.
Together with the quartet of entrées already swings a wonderfully coordinated concert of fragrances in the air and surrounds with a very special magic.
Fruity and yet floral in the prelude, "Place Rouge" is already developing into a floral Chypreduft.
But of course there is still an increase ahead, that already requires the fragrance rhythm: white musk must be, expect heliotrope and the fragrance goddess vanilla, which now appears after all!
She brings a small bowl of delicious pralines for all assembled: a little sweetness never hurts!
Before still cinnamon greets with a warm embrace and "Dame Iris" appears with her powder puff - briefly powdered over it. The fragrance creature now wears a cuddly angora jacket!
Patchouli flows leisurely along and also provides a certain erotic tingle, a rich vibration in the fragrance picture, before amber makes its entrance.
Here, too, golden sparks: so finally a floral musk amber fragrance is created - a real Guerlain fragrance creation of the new generation!

Fragrance intensive and long accompanying enchants "Place Rouge".
This fragrance is not exceptional, you do not need to know it or even have it in your collection; but it is interesting to discover what Thierry Wasser composed for this special edition.
My bottling will see me through the day today with its last drops.
I'm looking forward to it: the aforementioned rain we already had, so now comes the fruity-floral scented and so necessary sun warmth on the skin.
No matter whether on the "Red Square" in Moscow or wherever:
He gives sun and a smile!

It's raining in Moscow
Hello snoopers!
Here I am again and describe a new fragrance. Today it's about Guerlain's "Place Rouge", which is the new edition of the very great "Quand Vient la Pluie" from 2007. The first thing you notice right away is the name of the fragrance. While the first fragrance had the romantic name "When the rain comes", this fragrance here is simply called "Red Square" and describes the place of the same name in Russia.

Of course, there is a reason why this fragrance is now called that, because the 120th anniversary of the GUM department store in Moscow was celebrated with this fragrance, which is also the reason why this fragrance is only available exclusively there. However, this is something that I like less. Sure, a certain exclusivity might bring some excitement and variety to certain places, but I still find it a pity. But what I least understand is that this fragrance of all things was chosen here. I mean, Guerlain could have released a fragrance for the Russian GUM and made the beautiful Quand Vient la Pluie available to the general public, but that's how it is sometimes when it comes to marketing etc.

But it is interesting to note that the scent is already quite similar to the old scent with some differences and thus reminds us of the original name, namely rain! Which can be a pleasant scent! Well then, let's see how the scent is like here and how the differences to La Pluie turned out!

The smell:
The fragrance begins with powdery-sweet violets, which smell very nice. In addition there is already a mandelige note, which comes from the heliotrope. I think that in contrast to the Quand Vient La Pluie, the heliotrope starts faster here and also starts to smell more intense sooner. But the orange blossoms are much weaker and the fragrance lacks the small (and short) freshness of bergamot from the other fragrance. In addition, the orange blossoms have disappeared again only after a few moments.
This fragrance also smells mainly of heliotrope and violets in the middle section, with musk being added more and more, which gives the fragrance another sweet note, which now smells a bit "darker". I would also say that the musk here also sets in a little faster than with the old scent. But the amber seems to be missing here.
The base remains slightly floral and sweet. So you can still smell almond-sweet heliotrope (here slightly more intense than in the old fragrance) with musk (a very nice combination, by the way) as well as pleasantly powdery violets. In contrast to La Pluie, the scent here is a bit darker in the base, because the other scent still had amber in its base, which "lightened" the scent a bit. I also had the feeling that here in the base the patchouli radiated a little stronger, especially in the later hours. All in all a very nice scent that one should try if one has the chance.

The Sillage and the durability:
The sillage is quite good, you are wrapped in a nice scent cloud, with which you can smell good for a while, but without scenting the whole environment. I would say that this scent is about as intense as the La Pluie. Also the shelf life of eight to ten hours is similar to the old scent.

The bottle! The bottle comes in the usual (but beautiful) cylindrical bee flacon and is filled with yellow scented liquid. The label has an elaborate golden frame and shows the name and silhouette of Moscow. The lid is round and on the neck there is a dark red silk bow with a metal golden plaque. A very nice bottle, as you'd expect from Guerlain, although the 2003 fragrance had a much more beautiful bottle.

Conclusion:
So many people. I think that the new edition of the Quand Vient La Pluie is also very successful. Of course it has to be like this, because this fragrance smells 80-90% similar to the old one. So the differences are not that big. Roughly speaking, the Place Rouge smells a little darker, as here, one can smell the musk more clearly, the heliotrope also seems to be a little more intensive and specially, the amber is missing here. But apart from that it smells mainly flowery and sweet and powdery like violet, heliotrope and musk. And the feeling of a summer rain, at least the nice smell of it and not the sultry sensation after the rain, is also present here.

This makes the fragrance very pleasant, very beautiful, although not exceptionally outstanding, as it does not have very strong recognition features now. Maybe this only seems so to me because I have tested many scents in the meantime, and even if I should not have everything in my head anymore, it still seems to me as if I had already had some similar smelling scents under my nose once.

Anyway, this does not diminish the beauty of the scent, so I can recommend the scent, to test it if you can get it somehow. It is especially suitable for going out and getting bitten (hey hey, I haven't said that for a long time). Yes, especially Russian girls are said to be very pretty, and with this scent they would look even more attractive... oh, and you other girls too, don't worry, you are all pretty, even if you should scold me all the time *sigh* ... :DD

So which scent is the better scent? Well, I'd say they're both equally beautiful. The La Pluie is a tick easier and starts a bit fresher while the Place Rouge is a bit faster almond-sweeter. Strictly speaking I find the La Pluie a little bit better, because as I said before you can smell the fresher scents better at the beginning and you can smell a little more neroli, but these are just personal tastes, so you can have a look at both scents here!

Well, that's it, folks. You all have a good evening and see you next time :)
