Guerlain sophisticated
More than ever Guerlain - what a name! A pleasant sound for the ears.
In the free translation into German, it becomes quite
factual: "more than ever Guerlain."
With the opening of the Maison Guerlain in 2005, the house had great ambitions. A new identity, exclusivity, modernity, while not losing sight of its long-standing tradition.
For this special occasion, Jean-Paul Guerlain was also active after years of absence. He created this perfume in classic Guerlain style, and of course, (his) Guerlinade could not be missing here.
More than ever Guerlain gives the impression that Monsieur Guerlain wanted to prove himself once again. (In another place, I reported on the dispute between J.P.G and LVMH. It was about the missing signature that was no longer included in the new Guerlain perfumes).
The fragrance begins with the familiar bergamot facet, but then transitions into a light, piercing note of white flowers. At this stage, it is not flattering, rather somewhat defiant, bitter, self-assured, sophisticated.
About 2 hours pass before the full range is presented. In the final phase, a softer character emerges through vanilla and tonka. As mentioned, the complete range of Guerlinade is played. The longevity corresponds to the Guerlain philosophy.
If I were to be asked which type of woman could wear More than ever Guerlain, or to which professional profile it fits, I would choose a suit-wearing woman in a leadership position (finance, media agency, or similar).
For the Maison opening, everything new had to be good and expensive. More than ever Guerlain probably corresponded more to the latter characteristic. 60 ml Eau de Parfum went over the counters of the Champs Élysées for 260 euros. The perfume was only offered in 500 ml in Baccarat crystal for 1,500 euros. Both the small and the Gèant bottle were presented with baroque pearls (see illustration). This reflected the 2005 proclaimed external appearance of Guerlain
(specifically of the sales personnel).
In 2006, the Eau de Parfum was included in the "Les Parisiennes" series, where it remained until 2008. Since then, the fragrance has unfortunately disappeared. Should it be sighted, I can only recommend: BUY.
