expensive Easter brunch with time pressure
When I was around eight years old, my two brothers and I had lunch in a restaurant. As is usual with children, my sense of taste was so developed that I limited my choice of food to French fries and chicken nuggets. After a filling meal, the waitress cleared our plates and left us three packs of "Citro refreshing wipes" with which we could wipe our fingers, which were glistening in the midday sun. We pocketed the wipes after wiping all the greasy areas of our skin with them, not without cracking a few jokes. Over the course of the afternoon, I kept putting the strongly artificial-smelling polyester mixture between my upper lip and nose to catch a whiff.
The opening, the top note of this fragrance, the first blind purchase I ever made, reminds me of this. It smells incredibly penetrating of artificial citrus fruits while you apply it.
As I said, it was a blind purchase and, to make matters worse, an impulse buy. Because the fragrance is very new, there were no reviews or independent opinions and you couldn't buy it anywhere in Switzerland, where I live, so I had to order it from England, paying one hundred francs for 30 ml with shipping and customs. So I had to like the scent to justify the purchase (to me).
But regardless of this, I was pleasantly surprised after an hour. The intensity and intrusiveness diminished greatly and the fragrance gained unimaginable depth and uniqueness. It smells as if you are eating fresh tortellini with cream sauce on the first warm spring day after the snow has melted and your mother is drying the first sprigs from her herb garden by the window.
The scent is not something that attracts a lot of attention or for which you receive a multitude of compliments, but something for which you have to be quiet, surrender and something that then compliments you with contentment and serenity.
Something so serene that you doze off and the scent becomes very quiet and disappears quite quickly.
This perfume is fantastic in the heart notes and exactly what you imagine in better. it is a little overzealous at the beginning though, which could be overlooked if the longevity was better. On my skin, the fragrance lasted less than three hours, which unfortunately negates the strong performance of the heart note. If you are going for a short spring walk or planning an Easter breakfast, this fragrance is recommended for everyone, regardless of age or gender. But if you plan on smelling good all day long, this perfume won't be noticed after a short time.
