Dark, Smoky and, above all, Thick Orange Blossom
Often orange blossom perfumes are bright and shiny, uplifting things. Boadicea the Victorious DELIRIOUS offers a different take. This orange blossom-centric creation is rather dark and smoky. Perhaps the jasmine is indolic and adds a touch of gray, along with ylang ylang, which is naturally dark.

To my nose the orange blossom is very dominant, and even reminds me in waves of Serge Lutens FLEURS D'ORANGER, which I last wore (to my regret) to the library. I felt quite self-conscious that day, as it became clear that I was moving about in a gigantic cloud of orange blossom emanations. DELIRIOUS is not quite as thick and expansive, but it is definitely moving in that direction, toward the suntan lotion orange blossom, and away from the candied petals of SWEET REDEMPTION, which may save those with life-threateningly low blood sugar.

I am confused by the note hierarchy for this creation. Orange blossom as a base note? It's up front and center from the very first sniff, by far the strongest note detectable by my nose, and making this a variation on the orange blossom soliflore theme. Anyone who appreciates Serge Lutens FLEURS D'ORANGER may find much to like in DELIRIOUS as well. Those who do not, will not.

Skillfully retro
I can't help it, but Delirious somehow smells 80's American!

The focal point is a really successful jasmine note, which is presented throughout the entire fragrance journey from fruity, to aromatic, to sweet.

Due to the incredible intensity (at least on my skin) and the enormous longevity, this American punch feeling is created. Here, fragrances like Anne Klein or Giorgio come to mind as comparisons, although I see Delirious as somewhat more modern.

Well, shoulder pads are said to be making a comeback, so one can certainly handle such a fragrance bomb again. However, I can't imagine this scent on a man.
