Good bang for your buck
LPH takes me back to my high school days which is where I wore it most, and was also the period of time I wore something besides Axe body spray. Night and day difference, of course.

Like pretty much every Lacoste fragrance, it's extremely casual and can be worn year round, with the exception of the hottest summer days. The plum and rum can make it seem a little cloying in high heat. Speaking of plum, I found out I love this note thanks to LPH. In several ways LPH was actually my jumping off point into fragrances because many of the notes here I found to still enjoy, many years later when I got into the hobby as an adult.

For the money you cannot go wrong, especially considering the difficulty in finding solid fragrances under $30. Spoiler alert, that's few and far between now that prices have risen the way they have.

Surprisingly Good
I must confess, I have always successfully avoided Lacoste fragrances without really testing any. I associate the name Lacoste with yawning boredom. Aside from a few sneakers, I have never bought anything from this brand. Qualitatively, it is actually a good brand but very plain. I stumbled upon this fragrance purely by chance. Many years ago, I received a small tube of shower gel of this scent as a bonus with a fragrance purchase. Little impressed, this tube disappeared untested somewhere. After a few years, it resurfaced, and I wanted to test it.

I was very surprised. I did not expect the scent to be like this. From the very first second, it comes across as very clean and noble. Some fruits like apple, grapefruit, and plum are well highlighted and come off as elegant. When I think of Lacoste, I always think of sporty boredom, which does not apply to this fragrance at all. It really has nothing to do with sports. This lightly heavy fruit cocktail fits wonderfully with the dreary weather in autumn. A beautiful composition has been created here that radiates a fresh seriousness. Even in the later stages, the scent is quite pleasant. Some notes like vanilla and cinnamon make this fragrance really interesting. I am sure that many women will like this scent very much. It is also quite suitable for older wearers. I find it to be very masculine even though it is quite sweet.
The sillage and longevity are also convincing. Although the sillage is somewhat limited, which is not meant negatively. It is well noticeable. The price is not quite as cheap as some other sports brands. That wouldn’t fit with Lacoste's image. I bought the 30ml version.

Conclusion: A great alternative for autumn. Masculine seriousness that is not boring. Definitely worth testing.

The Beginning of a Great Love!
I would like to write my first Parfumo comment about Lacoste pour homme, as this fragrance has accompanied me for a very long time in my life.

It all started in 2003. I was 18 years old. Life revolved around being independent and free, discovering many things, going to parties, and developing my own style. Even back then, I had an interest in perfume, its scent components, and their effect on those around me. At that time, almost all of my friends wore Boss Bottled or Joop Homme. Both are good scents, but I didn't want to smell like everyone else. I wanted to be different.

That was the reason I set out in search of the "Other." I tried several fragrances and ended up with Lacoste pour homme. This scent evokes something in me that I want to try to describe.

My nose is not as finely tuned as that of some Parfumo members. Therefore, I can only share my perception with you.

For me, the fragrance starts fruity paired with a note of cinnamon. This scent progression does not change much for me. But I find that good.
It combines a sporty elegance that holds back subtly. It lasts on me for about 7-8 hours. I find that absolutely acceptable.

I have worn this fragrance for many years for almost all occasions. Whether for work, going out, or at festive events. A very loyal companion. It is an all-rounder perfume that, in my opinion, can be used year-round. It is light, fresh, spicy, sporty, but also elegant. I have received many compliments for this scent, and for quite some time, it was the fragrance that people recognized me by. Exactly what I wanted. I wanted to be different! I achieved that, and this fragrance helped me a lot!

Even today, more than 15 years later, this scent accompanies me in many moments, and I still receive compliments for it!

An absolutely recommendable fragrance for young and old!!!

When Your Vampires Loved
Recognizing the everyday cultural essence of a decade always takes a bit of time. Today, it’s easy to say what was typical of the 90s (Friends, Ally McBeal, Prosecco, arugula), and the 90s are now far enough in the past to celebrate this everyday culture - with ironic distance. The 2000s are not that long ago - and it’s only slowly becoming clear what the main characteristics of that decade were.

Something that I now consider 'typical of the 2000s' was the infatuation with - to put it cautiously - 'quirky' men. While girls/women in the 90s were still screaming for Sasha, Brad Pitt, and the Backstreet Boys, in the 2000s they suddenly found themselves enchanted by long-haired pointy-eared characters (Legolas), rosy-cheeked fifteen-year-olds (Justin Bieber), and finally, depressed-melancholic vampires (Edward Cullen) keeping them awake at night.

An olfactory signature of the first decade after the turn of the millennium was the use of the 'apple' accord. One of the fragrances that used apple at that time was Pour Homme by Lacoste. A significant part of its success back then was undoubtedly the naked coffee drinker in its advertising campaign, an Australian model named Ian Lawless (related to 'Xena' Lucy Lawless?), as I just googled.

The scent itself remained only vaguely memorable. Pour Homme has hardly anything that could polarize; it is tame and agreeable. The initial apple starts with a slightly broken sweet freshness, followed by a kind of 'prégourmand' soft spice note that fits perfectly with Mr. Lawless' perfectly trimmed chest hair, into which everyone wished to bury themselves back then. Or would they rather be with Edward's cold, sunlit, sparkling body?

Conclusion: one of the few olfactory signatures of the 2000s. When girls swooned for elf ears and vampires. Meanwhile, Mr. Lawless was such a handsome man...

Different Masculinity
When it comes to Lacoste in the fragrance sector, it rarely runs smoothly and often in connection with fruity notes. Annick Ménardo created a French apple counterpart to "Boss Bottled" with "Lacoste Red," which I find even rounder or more appealing, but Claude Dir already presented "Pour Homme" for Lacoste in 2002.

In terms of price and performance, both of these can now be highly recommended. This fragrance for men is rather unusual. Similar to "Black XS" by Paco Rabanne, it leans towards a berry or fruit cocktail direction, which may seem just as atypical and unmasculine to many. However, it successfully channels this into a very attractive direction. The expression is fruity, slightly sweet, somewhat creamy, but also clear and quite spicy.

Certainly not suited for every mood, but this facet of fragrance is nothing ordinary, and yet it can be worn well if one wishes. Similar to "Black XS," for which I surprisingly receive many inquiries from women about what kind of fragrance it is that breathes so well on my skin. I wear Lacoste "Pour Homme" too rarely for such experiences, but it has always felt quite pleasant despite this unusual base tone.

So fruit and masculinity are not a contradiction if presented in an interesting way. This is certainly the case with Lacoste "Pour Homme." Sometimes it seems too opulent to me, perhaps slightly synthetic, yet it is not intrusive if one avoids an overkill and does not exhibit a clear, light, smooth freshness. Overall, it is refreshingly different and still masculine. For the price, one can certainly acquire it again and again.

Sweet vanilla and plum with rum. The opening is very bright and the drydown is very pleasant. Non offensive scent that you can wear anytime.

It has similarities with Hugo Boss Bottled, but this one has a plum note that gives it a different touch. Very wearable and for all seasons.

Very fat, heavy and little nasty smell, powdery linear and juvenile , like any Lacoste fragrance - good for teens and non trained noses.

Too short-lived to enjoy, but the smell is pretty nice, overall. Suits men above 30 imo.

Wow! I've never been so surprised by a fragrance. Anyone thinking this is boring is missing out on one of the best mainstream scents.

The pyramid promises more fruit & warmth than plum & cinnamon actually deliver. But in combination with woods & a bit of rum, it’s quite okay.
