Relaxing, uncomplicated, excellent for a weekend
I recently acquired a bottle of 125ml batch 2020 and puff that delight is like performing a replay in my memory, it immediately brought back memories of high school and some of my first post-graduation jobs, it was very popular back in 2005 and was known as Lacoste Red, hehehe almost everyone was wearing it. It's good that today Lacoste keeps it in its production and that it is not so overcrowded, (I have Lacoste L'homme meeh that sadness of performance but as I always say that's another story), this instead I notice it more versatile for its output of apple and green notes (pine, I find this one more versatile with its top notes of apple and green notes (pine, thuja leaves which are of the coniferous family that give it that resinous touch, but clean resin type, and in the background pushing the vetiver) with that touch of jasmine in the middle gives it a special blend to then merge with the notes of cedar and musk, which makes it keep the fixation for a long time. In my skin has a good development approximately 7 to 8 hours, medium projection, just for a working day, it is a fragrance that will not bother anyone and will be there for a long time believe me. Good compliments from women, they are fascinated by this scent.
And the important thing is that you all like it, that it lifts your spirits in these times of crisis due to the pandemic, besides all its excellent price approximately 30 USD.

Here I am again Style in play, you will stay with me for a long time.

The French Counterpart to Boss Bottled
Often, it’s worth taking a second look before putting a perfume in a specific category. With Lacoste, this is sometimes labeled as: mid-priced and of average quality, mass-compatible, somehow fresh and youthful, but all without depth. However, excellent perfumers also create for these brands. Just take Annick Ménardo in the case of "Lacoste Red/Style in Play."

She has already gifted us several masterpieces (including "Body Kouros," "Armani City Glam for Him," "Bvlgari Black," "Acqua di Giò pour Homme," "Au Maskulin") and her creations are at least undoubtedly often very distinctive and inventive. She often combines woody notes with fruity undertones. The best example of this is the wood apple "Boss Bottled." I like the German designer apple that has conquered the world, but I find a scent in this direction even finer, and that’s what I’m discussing here. "Lacoste Red/Style in Play" is, for me, the subtler and more harmonious evolution of "Boss Bottled." I don’t always crave the latter; often I have the impression that the blend of apple and wood here is somewhat raw and implies a certain toughness that is distinctive and gives it edges and corners, but for which one must be in a certain mood.

"Lacoste Red/Style in Play," on the other hand, comes across much lighter, but not in terms of longevity and intensity. It may be fruitier; here you find the freshness of red apples. Slightly candied, but not overly so, so to speak. The woodiness is integrated more finely, rounding it off in a nonchalantly masculine way. This is delightful and provides a certain fresh deodorant effect without being too synthetic. For the warmer days, "Lacoste Red/Style in Play" is one of my favorites that can be worn anytime. I loved it as a teenager, and the scent was a hit. This still holds true today, as it appears fresh and youthful, but is by no means confined to that category. It already brings enough masculine attitudes with it.

In direct comparison with "Boss Bottled," Ménardo has worked here more finely and less angular. Those who can also complain at a high level about the Boss and feel similarly should definitely test "Lacoste Red/Style in Play" as an alternative, and likewise, one can like both for good reason. Personally, I prefer Ménardo's French apple, so it always has a place in my collection as an all-rounder for the warmer days.

Red Crocodile Egg
Oops!
A glance at the calendar shows me that my dear brother-in-law has a birthday the day after tomorrow.
So off to the fragrance dealer.

From the sea of bottles, the red Lacoste crocodile egg smiles at me - perhaps because of the Easter season.
Besides, I am fond of the brand anyway, as I can always expect something friendly and approachable.
And Red does not disappoint me either.

A crisp Cox Orange greets me - sweet and tart, fresh, softened by the green arborvitae that calms the lively opening.
Floral jasmine pairs harmoniously with the woody pine, giving the fragrance a natural elegance.
Patchouli adds depth, and the vetiver grounds Red softly.

From the orchard, the path winds past jasmine bushes into the forest.
A lovely walk that I enjoyed taking with the crocodile.

For me, a unisex fragrance with a positive statement - and surely a loyal everyday companion without being arbitrary.

Flirty Party-Apple
Typical Lacoste: sweet, not bad at all, young, spontaneous, fruity, suitable for going out, fun, flirty --> a likable party apple without pressure. Perfect for having fun at cocktail parties. Or also for teenage/kids' birthdays, as it comes across as extremely fruity and naive. Definitely wearable by women.

The red apple is dominant and very juicy and fruity. It then transitions through a muted patchouli cloud into a cedar finish. Initially sweet and cheerful, just like it is at cocktail parties. But then the energy quickly fades, and the solid, woody dry-down reliably brings you home, as it has avoided alcohol. A good friend who, despite its youthful impulsiveness, has a solid, likable base. Reminds a bit of Boss Bottled for leisure or in a younger version!

The bottle is very round and handy, allowing for precise aiming and spraying. The sillage is quite strong due to the sweetness, but once that fades, it becomes rather shallow. One shouldn't party too long; you can't rely on Red for more than 6 hours.

A solid fun scent for the young crowd without worries and, unfortunately, also without depth!

Seductive Apple
One sets the example, while a few others blindly chase the trend - fragrances with an intense apple note are meant. This was new and trendy in the mid-2000s and was often interpreted quite pleasingly. I have now had Style in Play for almost eight years as this fresh summer scent, but do I still enjoy smelling it this season?

Style in Play is overall a variation of the classic Red by Lacoste, just a bit fresher and spicier. This is meant to be symbolized by the packaging brightened with silver elements. The bottle is made of white-transparent glass, with only remnants of red left at the bottom edge. Overall, the bottle appears lighter and more playful, showcasing its side grip grooves with ribbing better. It has always felt great in hand.

As expected, the first impression of the scent is promptly: apple-y! What I find puzzling is that a green apple was chosen for the red design. Be that as it may, delicious is delicious, and that remains true for the fragrance. The fruity-fresh note of the apple is joined by the green-sweet jasmine, before the herbaceous, green, and toxic thuja barges in and makes its presence known. Indeterminate wood notes come into play, while vetiver and patchouli round off the green notes once again. There is supposed to be musk in it as well, but I have been searching for it in vain for years.

This fragrance promises to bring style into play. One can certainly say that, as the green fougere notes and the spicy wood accents suit the sporty-fresh summer scent well. The individual notes reappear throughout the life of this fragrance, reminding you of themselves. This keeps the scent exciting and varied for the nose even after several years. Six to eight hours is fine for such a fragrance, but unfortunately, I find the sillage to be just average; sometimes I wish for a bit more.

A seductive apple scent, skillfully rounded off with its green and spicy notes - a lovely summer fragrance.

A great synthetic apple top on a bed of very sweet 90's aquatic piney musk. The BR540 of the 2000s? Solid performance and quite nostaligic.

~ the time it was released I remember the strong apple and almost unbearable sweetness, but 2day it's heavy on pine and a certain bitterness

Nice fresh scent. Clearly apple. Lasts a couple of hours. Not too strong, impossible to overspray.

Look: Crocodiles also enjoy nibbling on Granny Smith! A fresh-fruity designer with woody & green undertones and a hint of patchouli.

Here we have it, the "good" 59 cent shower gel "sporty fresh apple". Smells as classy as it sounds.

Granny Smith to spray on. I've had it since 2004! It hasn't changed since then. We've been through ups and downs together.

Green, floral fresh with a slightly woody base. No wonder I liked it back then. Now the last drop is sprayed. RIP
