ANOTHER BACCARAT CLONE IN DISGUISE
This one definitely has that Baccarat Rouge DNA, but with less spun sugar and more caramel. It’s also not as sweet as Baccarat. The citruses in the opening are different, too. And there’s a clear floral heart with delicate rose and jasmine peeking through. But let’s be real, once you smell it, Baccarat is the only thing that comes to mind. It’s similar enough that your brain basically says, “Oh, we’ve been here before.” There are some differences, sure, but the vibe is the same.
I’ve never been a huge fan of this DNA anyway, to me it reads kind of medicinal. It also reminds me of Albizia, which had me going, “Wait… do I already own this?” And unfortunately, I do. Both Albizia and Tinharé were blind buys that turned out to be mistakes, because they all share that same Baccarat Rouge-style DNA. That airy, amber-woody sweetness that starts pretty but quickly feels a bit chemical and overbearing. Both of them sit on my shelf looking nice but not getting worn. I keep thinking I’ll grow to like them, but it’s not happening. Both Albizia and Whispers of Truth have moss listed in the base, and you can definitely pick up that earthy, grounded element from it.
If you want a more citrusy, floral take on Baccarat Rouge, Whispers of Truth could work. But for me, the best alternative is still Instant Crush... It’s sweeter, lasts longer, and honestly the only one from this DNA that I actually enjoy (and can smell properly).
Now, the cupcake bottle? Gorgeous. Absolutely. Like, Instagram-core perfection. But unless you really need that white cupcake on your vanity, I’d skip it. They’ve got prettier designs and better scents in the same lineup. This one just feels unoriginal and kind of unnecessary.
