Idôle Aura Lancôme 2021

No initial blast of alcohol when sprayed which is quite nice. I'm greeted by a fresh uplifting bergamot zing. It quickly fades in the background as I'm swept away by the feminine, soft, light, airy and ethereal roses. I was pleasantly surprised: the roses are not too young (sickeningly sweet) or too old (powdery), they're just right. No wonder this perfume is a staple and a classic. I could also smell a bit of salt note, but I felt it was there to add an intricate and delicate layer to the star of this fragrance. Jasmine does appear shyly to impart a nice creamy aspect as the fragrance moves towards the bottom notes. I'm finally left with a nice drydown composed of vanilla and musky accord.

It's an overall nice feminine fragrance and a lovely interpretation of salted roses with vanilla. I'll probably be getting a travel spray for my collection!

This smells like a beautiful bronze goddess eating Turkish delight by the sea; her hair is effortlessly wavy, and her skin smells sunkissed, salty, creamy & warm. I like the sweet and salty aspect of this fragrance, out of the Idole line, it’s the only one I enjoy. The hot weather brings out the best in this fragrance. It smells so different to me right now that the temperature is cooler; the salt and solar aspect aren’t as present but instead smells more like milky rose water.

I received a sample of this perfume in the mail and loved it so much that I caved and bought a full size bottle. I find that the longevity is actually better because I spray more than I could with the sample bottle and it stays on my clothes.
It is a lovely rose vanilla fragrance that I enjoy a lot more than the original Idole.
The bottle itself could be better, with perhaps a little bit of iridescence on it. The price point is good.

Sometimes I get a salty rose that it is comfortable to my soul, other times I get some fresh dill and sometimes for some reason I get watermelon. She is a bit of a black sheep when it comes to the other flankers and the OG, but I love her nevertheless.

I am a fan of salty, vanilla notes that are not too thick and overwhelming (looking at you, Olympea ) so this hits the spot for me.

The salty vanilla compliments the fresh, almost solar rose notes very well. This was the first time I had a perfume give me a scent association, which was twofold: the various beaches my family had visited on vacations past, and the beautiful bouquet of fancy “Princess Maya” roses I had ordered myself for my 30th birthday. Those roses were absolutely gorgeous and the longest-lasting flowers I’ve had to date, with an amazing fragrance. Idôle Aura made me crave another bouquet, and another trip to the beach. It made me feel nostalgia and wanderlust at the same time; with a sprinkle of romanticism.

Out of the three Idôle flankers I own, this one is perhaps the weakest when it comes to longevity, but that also depends on how well I moisturize and what the weather/air around me is like (dry, humid, hot, cold, etc.). The bottle is still the iconic thin Idôle rectangle, but with a pretty white fog/ombré that symbolizes the salted note well. It isn’t quite as pretty as the peach ombré on the Now flanker, or the rainbow sheen on the Nectar flanker, but I do still like to look at it.

I do think this is primarily a summer scent, being so beachy and solar, but it can chase the winter blues away any time you need a mental break from cold, grey, dreary weather. I know I’ve used it for a sensory escape now and then.
