Salting it Up.
I like salt. Most of the time, I season a dish without having tasted it beforehand. I admit it.
Now, of course, I know that too much salt can harm the body. That's how it is with the little "vices." The dose makes the poison!
In the world of fragrance, however, spices can be used in any quantity and according to preference. Without a guilty conscience.
All the more joyfully, I welcomed a new addition to my collection today: Ô Zenith by Lancôme
Those who know me might be aware that I'm not necessarily the biggest fan of citrus-fresh scents. Too often, I've associated them with cleaning products or refreshing wipes.
With Ô Zenith, however, it’s completely different...
The refreshing citrus is balanced here by gentle florals and a tropical vanilla note. I've read online several times that this scent is often compared to "Alien Goddess (Eau de Parfum) | Mugler." I do not agree.
Rather, I can faintly recognize similarities to "Olympēa (Eau de Parfum) | Rabanne." Here, however, in a much lighter, summery variation.
Like Olympēa, Ô Zenith also has an incredibly pleasant salty note that immediately catapults me mentally to a deserted island: tropical climate, white sandy beaches, and summery fruity cocktails. The salt of the sea on sun-kissed skin.
As it develops, the scent becomes pleasantly sweet, and the citrus gradually fades away. What remains is a veil of salty vanilla that carries you into the sunset.
The longevity is quite appropriate at around six hours for a summery EdT. The sillage is rather close to the skin, yet you can still catch a light whiff of the fragrance now and then.
I am very much looking forward to sunny days with this thoroughly friendly scent.
Wishing you all a wonderful summer! :-)
