A Successful Gucci Flora Gorgeous Orchid Dupe
I recently tested the "Flora Gorgeous Orchid | Gucci," just before my dear Peppermint provided me with the "Atheeri / أثيري | Lattafa / لطافة."
And what can I say?
My first impression of both: Unfortunately, much too feminine for my taste!
Still, I can confirm: Yes, the Lattafa is indeed a really good dupe of the OG.
While the two fragrances are strikingly similar, there are, of course, differences.
Especially in terms of quality, Gucci has a slight edge.
What I smelled in the opening of Gucci left me a bit puzzled back then.
It's this floral sweetness that I couldn't quite place.
Could it be the passion flower?
Depending on the type, it can emit a hint of honey, and indeed, the opening has a subtle vanilla-honey note, paired with a floral orchid aroma.
This floral mystery remains in the dry down, with the vanilla becoming significantly more prominent.
At the very end, a bit of jasmine appears, but it stays more in the background.
And yes, I know, it sounds a bit crazy, but for me, the scent has a slightly banana-sweet quality to it.
It’s probably just my imagination, but that’s how I perceive it.
Honestly, I expected more power from such a sweet fragrance!
The performance is similar to the original: at most moderate.
The longevity of 5 to 6 hours is just okay.
Conclusion: The Atheeri is not a bad fragrance, but it didn't really blow me away.
It's just a designer dupe, and I'm not a big fan of this direction.
Additionally, as I said, it's simply too feminine for me.
However, those who love the original and are looking for an affordable, solid alternative will definitely find it here.
