Why so serious?
Or: Why so tart?
Ta'weel starts fresh and green in the opening and I really enjoy it in the first few minutes. This green, somewhat tart freshness fits well, is not too harsh and light enough to make a good everyday, leisure and business fragrance. And: yes, L'Immensité was the spiritual father here and Ta'weel can be classified as a real clone.
But then, within an hour, the fragrance becomes more and more bitter and austere, the freshness fades, the greenery takes on a slightly scratchy, herbaceous note, the juniper really hits hard and it remains a fragrance that is more suitable for middle-aged men for business alone. As a result, it diminishes enormously for me and I can no longer do much with it. What a shame.
Oh, and: that doesn't happen with Louis Vuitton's role model.
The sillage is not intense, but good enough and slowly but surely diminishes after 2 hours. Overall, Ta'weel projects for 7 hours, a solid amount of time for an EdP.
The bottle looks quite pretty and is nicely designed, but in my opinion it just doesn't fit the fragrance. It is well made, but tends to fall over backwards due to the unfavorable weight distribution. Much like the fragrance itself.
