Excruciatingly nauseating

I like Loewe fashion, but so far their fragrances are a total miss for me. Didn`t think I`d meet an aquatic scent that I could hate so much, but guess they gone and proved me wrong. I`m really curious which note is exactly responsible for the creepy sensation of chilled, sweet, wet drool that takes over on my skin. Aside from the pear, I seem to agree and even like most of the other components of that pyramid, so maybe it`s the calone? If I were to describe Aire Anthesis, I`d say it`s the beautiful peony in Pivoine Flora Eau de Parfum drowning in detergent powder and calones. I find it excruciatingly nauseating.

Flower stalks flavored water

Initial cloud mostly consists of pear, but also has a broader fruity quality. Not the sweet kind – very fresh, almost unripe. Rhubarb is lovely, I wish it wasn't stuck on the sidelines. Sillage is moderate at first, but disappears completely in about ~1,5 hours.

Fruitiness doesn't last long. In about ~20 minutes my skin became a crystal flower vase on the windowsill. Full of clean water, reflecting spots of sunlight; and of freshly cut flowers. Beautiful.

But tell me, can a vase possibly know what kind of flowers are put in it, given that all it can feel is their freshly cut stalks? Well, neither could I. The scent was undeniably floral, but I felt like I was sniffing the flowers by the wrong end.

It lasted on me for about ~6 hours in total, and past the initial fruity stage I was stuck smelling the flower stalks. Green, watery, rather funny in retrospect.

I tested it later on my partner, and on him it didn't work at all. The florals opened up too aggressively on his skin, forming a "recently deep-cleaned public toilet" composition. Ah well, the more you know.

The overall experience was... unique. But while it was both fun and pleasant while it lasted, this is not my kind of scent. It's pretty and feminine, and could be mesmerizing on a right woman, but I'm not that woman.

Imagine putting a crisp pear through the laundry. (Figuratively speaking). My favourite of the Aire suite. A fresh, greenish fruitquatic, without feeling sugary or soapy. It’s like describing a cucumber without ever saying the word or sampling its extract. Not that it smells like cucumber, just that Antithesis's olfactory charades pack the exact same ~vibe~. The only notes I could put my finger on were the pear and muguet, which blend into a succulent dew drop. I clocked its performance at around five hours on bare skin – pretty decent considering the clarity of its freshness.

Mental Snapshot: Stock photo dew drops on a juicy pear. Stand in the produce aisle and bathe in the lettuce misters. Lay in the grass and allow yourself to be beaded in the sweet honeydew of a thousand benevolent aphids.

tl;dr: Moisturized. Happy. In My Lane. Focused. Flourishing.
