Calm and masculine

Earthy, a meadow full of aromatic herbs and grasses. Resinous trees surround it. The freshness and soothing qualities of nature. Unisex, though leaning towards the masculine side. Projection and longevity are excellent—distinct yet not overpowering. The scent embodies calm, masculine, and balanced strength.

A field of violets by the river's edge

A sweet powdery cloud of pear and violets tends to settle into either one or the other. On my partner's skin pear took centerstage. I, unfortunately, got the violets. I think my body just doesn't run hot enough to bring out the sweeter flavors properly.

Once the flowers mellowed out a little, a beautiful earthy woodiness started peeking through. Sleek, damp and absolutely gorgeous. I wish there was more of it. There wasn't. Or, rather, it felt like I just couldn't get close enough to it. Like standing on wet slippery rocks near a waterfall on the river. The forest is on the other side of the stream, just outside my grasp, with its beautiful wet soil, lush with decaying leaves and growing mycelium... and no way to get there safely :(

It disappeared almost entirely from my partner's skin in under two hours. On me at that point it just started getting softer and sweeter. The aggressive floral cloud subsided and I could finally sniff it up close and personal! Unfortunately, the earthiness I longed for had already disappeared by then. I could feel the sweet pear again, I could differentiate the flowers, but the magic was gone.

The gentle flowery scent was objectively pleasant as it slowly evaporated from my skin in the next ~3 hours, and I felt almost sorry that I didn't enjoy it. It was right there with me and it was adorable, and yet I couldn't help but long for that beautiful forest floor...

Interesting, albeit melancholic experience. I might wear it again sometime once I forget the details, but a full sized bottle will likely outlive me.

Don't be such a sensitive soul

Not too long ago, I tested "7 Elixir | Loewe" and "Esencia Elixir | Loewe" and was positively surprised. A brief heads up: unfortunately, there will be no praise hat trick with "Earth Elixir | Loewe".

Since I don't look at the ingredient list beforehand and want to test the fragrances blind at first, I was a bit unsure about what to expect. A fragrance called Earth will smell earthy? But the bottle color speaks a different language. After spraying it on, it quickly became clear that it is a very floral scent. Initially still a bit fresh and lightly spiced (perhaps due to the truffle note), but unfortunately, it becomes rather expressionless as it develops. The mimosa lives up to its name and shapes the scent with shy restraint. I'm a little surprised that the oud note is not perceivable to me at all. There are only 12 users registered on Parfumo so far, but at least 42 percent of them are male. I would have guessed the female percentage to be higher right off the bat. But that could still change with increasing user numbers.

People are referred to as sensitive souls when they are very sensitive. This metaphor was adopted because the mimosa reacts very sensitively to external influences and immediately folds up when touched. That such a fragrance does not perform in a beast mode way may almost sound logical. I could perceive four sprays on my neck for about four hours.

The bottle fits the floral character of the fragrance, but somehow I don't see much connection regarding the naming. Sure, the little flowers also grow from the earth, but when I hear the name "Earth," I immediately think of other color tones.

The fragrance is consistently unremarkable, both in terms of scent DNA and performance. Accordingly, I find the almost 180,- euros for 100 ml to be too much to ask.

While "7 Elixir | Loewe" and "Esencia Elixir | Loewe" could impress with natural/authentic minimalism, "Earth Elixir | Loewe" is too minimalist in all evaluation criteria.
