Cosmic Cloud for the self-confident, sophisticated woman I Fruity, powdery opening with a sweet drydown
The fragrances from the Les Extraits collection are visual masterpieces, as is the Cosmic Cloud. Even though the fragrance notes led me to expect a rather feminine scent, I treated myself to a sample of this fragrance to give you my personal impression.... and first of all, yes, the fragrance is feminine.
But now to the Cosmic Cloud:
- The opening is voluminous with a fruity-powdery DNA; the blackcurrant is very perceptible together with the musk and it conveys a really rich, rich fruity-powdery character at the beginning. At the beginning, the musk is absolutely not animalic, although the animalic quality then increases surprisingly.
- In the drydown, the fragrance gains sweetness thanks to the tonka bean, but never becomes cardboardy sweet, instead this initial fruity-powdery DNA is enveloped by the light sweetness and then goes into a musk-based, slightly animalic drydown. The patchouli is slightly perceptible in the background, but is subtle and not "earthy".
- The longevity is quite okay, in the upper mid-range, but the fragrance is not a longevity beast, which it doesn't need to be to be honest, as the DNA is simply too "softly feminine" for that. The projection is really good at the beginning, then fades visibly quickly; still much better compared to other LV fragrances.
All in all, a very feminine fragrance that starts off powdery and fruity and voluminous and then becomes more animalic thanks to the musk and enters the drydown together with a slightly sweet tonka bean, accompanied by a fine patchouli accord. A great companion for the self-confident woman, but to be honest, there are much better fragrances for the price. Yes it smells special, yes it smells high quality and rich, but somehow the whole story doesn't convince me.
