Aoud Lime, not Line
When you spray Aoud Line, two notes are immediately dominant: a Montale-like lacquer-hairspray oud and a candy-sweet, fresh citrus note. I don't know Aoud Lime, but since it is often mentioned that lime is involved, it seems likely that this is a clone where just one letter has been swapped out.

It is pleasing that the oud quickly turns into a dark, earthy direction. Only in the opening do you have this color-diluting synthetic smell; later it becomes beautifully dark and earthy with a really tiny hint of animalic nuance that should hardly disturb anyone. For me, this is the most pleasant form of oud I have smelled in a Mancera or Montale.

I am equally thrilled by the rare combination with freshness. This is a summer oud. Such a thing is rare; it is rarely attempted, yet oud or generally an earthy-dirty contrast harmonizes wonderfully with citrus notes.

Czech & Speake have a great scent in their lineup with Cuba, which pairs an earthy-tobacco note alongside fresh notes; Biehl Parfumkunstwerke has gs02, which uses castoreum as a contrast, and Yves Saint Laurent had the interesting M7 Fresh in their collection. All of these have lived in the shadows; very few seem to be genuinely excited about something more edgy in fresh scents. It's a shame because I find those paths interesting and no less beautiful than the often similar citrus and shower gel variants.

The Nimm2 lemon, no, rather Mojito-lime in Aoud Line extends far into the fragrance, is not sticky sweet, but has a refreshing quality. Additionally, for me, the pleasantly dark oud stands out, emphasized by herbaceous-woody notes and a soft, beautiful vanilla.

Later, you can still detect a slightly berry-like rose; here raspberry and rose become one, turning into a fruity rose jam that subtly integrates into the fragrance, giving it an even more oriental touch.

Aoud Line is not super luxurious; it does not come across as a display of the finest raw materials. However, it is an interesting and pleasantly wearable composition with good longevity and sillage for a fair price.

If you are looking for something different for the summer - give it a try! However, one should really be careful with the dosage in the sun, as the sillage is indeed typical for Montale/Mancera ;).

Of Oud and Breasts
Mancera is the sister brand of Montale. Both brands are run by businessman Pierre Durrani. The rights to both brands are managed by a trustee in Geneva and Paris, respectively. Whether ultimately Pierre Durrani or Saudi investors (presumably) or those from Dubai are behind the Montale and Mancera brands is not certain.

Mancera's oud fragrances are, on one hand, more affordable than those from Montale, and on the other hand, often more one-dimensional. The scent notes in Mancera fragrances, compared to Montale, are not minimalist in the sense of Ellena, but are usually olfactorily "thinned out". The Mancera fragrances, particularly the non-oud scents in the line, are significantly more European in character than their cousins from Montale.

Aoud Line from Mancera is an exception here. If tested blind, one would attribute Aoud Line to Montale. Specifically, it would be close to Aoud Night. Not in the sense of a scent twin, but rather they share many common genes.

The dominant scent note of Aoud Line is oud. Mancera claims it is Laotian oud. With a fragrance that is available online for around 50 euros/60ml, it can be assumed that the oud note comes from a test tube. I have only had the opportunity to smell real, outrageously expensive Laotian oud once. However, Aoud Line employs a really good synthetic substitute.

The dominant oud note smells musty, has slightly earthy undertones, and quite animalistic aspects. Animalistic in the sense of cow pasture (including bull!). Since the oud note also has an ethereal, almost floating character, the cow pasture note comes across as very appealing and stimulating. Overall, the synthetic oud note of Aoud Line is quite close to Laotian oud.

Immediately after spraying, the oud note reveals itself in all its glory. Very quickly, floral notes (rose), patchouli, and other woody notes join in. Towards the heart note, Aoud Line becomes more floral. The floral notes create a very appealing olfactory tension with the oud note.

One is almost inclined to compare this erotic tension between the oud note and the floral notes to the sensation of running one's hand over sensual female breasts.

Towards the base, the floral notes recede, and the fragrance becomes sweeter and resinous.

Overall, it is an evening fragrance for a grand entrance or intimate moments. The sillage is strong, and the longevity is enormous.

For a fabric like Mancera, not bad. Fresh cow oud, initially synthetic and piercing. In the dry down, hardly changed, pleasantly spicy.

The "Wild Rose Aoud" has an animalistic note added. A slightly stronger twin with amber-sweet roses that is explicitly animalistic, lasts great.

The male counterpart to Haneen by Al Haramain. Both are listed as unisex, but Haneen is clearly for ladies, while Aoud Line is more for men!

It surpasses everything. The nose needs a longer break afterwards. But somehow, there are interesting approaches.

Sweet oud with a fruity-floral note. Very strong sillage - more of an evening scent.

One-sided synthetic hairspray oud.
Still, it has something and fills every room, including headaches.
