Missing a Piece
Today I tested the two puzzle fragrances from Micallef.
I liked this one better. But not particularly well.
The opening was quite nice, a bit too fruity for my taste. But very straightforward with a pepper note, and I also thought I detected sharp ginger for a moment. After a minute, it becomes very delicate and feminine, and especially the osmanthus comes through very nicely and distinctly, combined with the iris it becomes clean-creamy.
Unfortunately, the fragrance does not develop particularly well on me afterwards. It turns vanilla-creamy with a hint of ripe peach, which unfortunately smells a bit like toddler vomit on me. It stays like this for quite a while.
The sillage is decent, and the longevity is comfortably around eight hours.
A fragrance progression is clearly recognizable, but it is not a truly beautiful one.
I also feel like something is missing. Just like Ananda from the same brand, this one is also very tame, and until the nice finish, which simply turns warm-woody and fluffy, it lacks edges and corners or just something that triggers a want-it reflex in me.
This puzzle is missing the last piece - frustrating.
By the way, the number two was not for me at all. Way too fruity and too sweet.
