Pure Vanilla
Of all the vanillas I’ve ever tried, Molinard’s version is possibly the truest vanilla out there. For those of you who are looking for vanilla fragrances that AREN’T sugary or cake-y, try this one! It smells exactly like the vanilla extract from a bottle. I didn’t find it to be boozy, dessert-like, or anything else. It is JUST VANILLA with good projection and lasting power. For this reason, it is also excellent to layer with any perfume you’d like to give some depth and/or gourmand edge to. It is guaranteed not to interfere with any of the notes except for adding straight up vanilla to it. The dry down gets a tad powdery but I love that.

'White sugar' vanilla with no bells and whistles
Don't roll up to this expecting smoke or booze or interesting woody notes, because you won't find them. But if you want a plain, good 'white sugar' vanilla with no bells and whistles, then this is best in class. The quality is fairly good - there is none of that screechy wood alcohol flavor you get in the cheapest of the cheap (Alyssa Ashley, some BB&B body sprays) although the heliotrope adds a doll's head plastic facet that runs close to fake cherryade or cough syrup. That little blip is brief, though, and if you apply enough of it, you get this smooth covering of plain, almost creamy vanilla frosting that can take on any additional flavors you throw at it. It's a great layering agent, especially when you want to take the sting out of sharp, woody, or strident spice scents. Basically, Molinard's Vanille is like a good pair of control underwear - unobtrusive, unflashy, but capable of getting all your wobbly bits to behave.

purr.

I now know how little kittens feel after being served a warm bowl of milk and then being thoroughly scratched behind the ears. Vanilla by Molinard has the same effect. Unrestricted and all-encompassing comfort.

Vanilla, delicate, fine, melting, close to the skin, gentle, velvety, light and clear. No claws are drawn here, we leave the edges and corners to others. Perfect. Meow

finest vanilla sugar
Take an airtight container, 1 kg of sugar, and 2-4 vanilla pods. Store the pods in the sugar until they are completely dry. Then you can finely grind them and add them back to the flavored sugar.

Tadaaa, then you have Molinard Vanilla... that is, homemade fine vanilla sugar.

Because when I sniff my sugar pot, it smells exactly like Molinard Vanilla.

A lot of vanilla, a hint of sweetness, wonderful.

The sillage is rather moderate, not overpowering, but absolutely fine for me.
I agree with TrialError on the longevity of 3-4 hours. On clothing, it lasts longer.
My 30 ml bottle dispenses a very nice fine mist and feels great in the hand.

I rate the price-performance ratio as very good to good; Molinard is relatively inexpensive to order abroad.

Lovers of vanilla scents should definitely give this fragrance a try.

I actually wanted to love it...
The title is fitting, because I actually wanted to love it, to enthusiastically add it to my collection, I had actually been watching it on eBay, I actually wanted to buy another bottle... actually!
What has become of the "actually"?
Conclusion: The scent is dreamily beautiful, exactly fits my preferences. It starts softly vanilla. It is not an intrusive vanilla that goes its own way, like in Provence and Nature "Vanille et Coco". It hugs the skin, stays close to the body. You can only smell the vanilla if you hold your nose very close to the sprayed body part. Although there is hardly any sillage, you can still smell the fragrance after 6 hours, but that requires some effort! You really have to be an extreme sniffer to perceive the scent.
What a shame... at first, I was so excited about this fragrance experience! It was a very special vanilla fragrance experience for me... but... after at most 2 hours, the beautiful fragrance experience is over, sillage is almost non-existent, no cookies anymore and the vanilla pudding is gone. I am sad. I had hoped so much from this Molinard scent *sigh* Now I will be searching again... but Molinard has not convinced me. I believe there are better fragrances than this Molinard... I am going to search now... I will use up my Molinard vanilla, go to bed with it, feel comfortable with it while falling asleep, delete it from my eBay watchlist, and overall move on. Adieu Molinard Vanilla... our paths are parting, because you are not worth staying with me any longer. What a shame!

If you want to smell like a vanilla cream slice, this fragrance is perfect for you. The subtle sillage makes it easy to wear.

Accidentally spilled half the sample on my arm... Not bad, quite close to the skin and pretty boring. Vanilla sugar describes it well.
