Vanille Marine
Salted caramel and vanilla take center stage here, with a subtle mix of herbs to keep it interesting and unique among all the other sweet vanilla perfumes on the market.

The saltiness mixed in there reminds me of salt water taffy, though this isn't as sickly sweet. First spray is a blast, but it settles down softly. It almost has an airy quality to it and dare I say fresh?

Longevity is decent. Lasts about 4-5 hours on my skin. Sillage is soft and stays close to the skin. Overall a great perfume for the price!!

A walk along the Santa Monica Boardwalk
It wasn’t ‘love at first whiff’ love but it was love nevertheless. It was a slow, smoldering, I-can’t-get-that-scent-out-of-my-head love. That is how Vanille Marine got to be placed in my signature slot, though I do not have a signature scent, per se. Grabbing it after a shower became a compulsory act to which I had to submit.

It is sweet but not foodie-sweet, and it is aquatic but not in the typical Cool Water-esque way. There is an essence bottled here that reminds me of summers spent on the Santa Monica pier: the salty air, the warmed skin, the sugared confections and the wood of the pier. I know, it seems like the scent is juvenile and unrefined the way I have described it but it is actually refined and sophisticated. It’s a fun scent that I did not want to love but, alas, I had to.

The sillage and projection are surprisingly hushed considering the notes listed, but the longevity is decently long-lasting. There is a niche-like ingenuity at play in the composition, contrary to what the price tag would suggest. It is great alone or layered with other scents to give them a beachy edge and a vanillic base. It’s versatile—it can be worn at work, casually around the house, or on a date night out. It does not care if you are male or female, or whether you are young or old. It’s just plain awesome. Yes, I said it: awesome.

Fresh vanilla
I recently got a tester of this fragrance as it sounded unisex and I liked the idea of a vanilla that was not congested. This one is definitely fresh and has the pleasing quality of having the character of vanilla without it being cloying. I have never tried salt water taffy, but I could imagine that it might be similar to the salty toffee that used to be made on Guy Fawkes night in England when I was a child.

The other notes in this composition support the vanilla without exerting their own character, they give the vanilla enough space to do its thing without getting crowded. The result is a subtle and gentle vanilla, suitable for men and women.

Making memories.
My review is short and simple...
It's a sweet aquatic & a bit earthy with a hint of spice
It smells great, you can wear it year round.
But shines during the late spring and all of the summer...
A nice hidden gem, in your armory.
This will be perfect for walks on the beach, parties, late night walks in the central park with your other half and cuddle on a bench talking about nothing.
I used six sprays...both wrist, back & front of my neck, chest, and front of my shirt.

Will I buy this again?...Yes.

What's the strength of this? EDT.

Can you use it as a unisex scent? Yes.

Am I willing to trade this fragrance? No.

Should You Skip It, Sample It First or Blind Buy It? I say Sample it first.
But if you like Sweet/Spicy Aquatic frags...Then you can blind buy it.

Is it the old, new formulation? New.

What's its availability; in production, limited edition or discontinued? In production.

SKU Number: 180501545047
Batch Number: 9 (Production Date: ?)

Age: 25+

Longevity: 3/5 (Six hours, longer during the summer).
Creativity: 5/5 (Spicy, sweet & Aquatic).
Projection: 3/5 (90 minutes, but longer during warmer temps).
Versatility: 5/5 (Anytime & anywhere, but the summertime this will shine).

Until next time, I'll catch you on the flipside.

Mhm, Krokantröllchen, delicious....
Gourmands are not usually my type. Most of the time they are too sweet for me, cause headaches after a short while, and are simply hard to wear. Nevertheless, I cherish a few and enjoy sniffing them from time to time. Vanilla Marine lured me in, a gourmand with aquatic notes, who would believe it…..

Vanilla Marine transports me back to the tiny bakery of my youth. There, all baked goods were still made with great attention to detail. Among other things, delicious Krokantröllchen, filled with nougat on the inside, decorated with dark chocolate and almonds on the outside. Sounds incredibly rich and sticky, but they weren't. Rather fluffy, crispy, and mildly sweet, even a bit bitter due to the dark chocolate. Mhm, I would give anything to enjoy one of those Krokantröllchen again today - and I don't belong to the sweet-eating crowd. It's exactly these Krokantröllchen I think of when I wear Vanilla Marine. The scent is creamy, caramel-like with a hint of bitter chocolate, fluffy, sweet, yet light and fresh. How this comes about, I have no idea, but I find it very successful and wonderful. Later, a delicate salty note emerges, the vanilla is lovely, not synthetic at all, and has a slight scratchy note. Flowers are just decorative, hardly noticeable. Well, and I also assert here that the scent has nothing aquatic, except for the salty note.

I would rate longevity and sillage as medium, and I think the scent could definitely appeal to some gentlemen. And they are allowed to wear it too. I'm surprised that there are no comments yet, Vanilla Marine is a spicy light gourmand that truly deserves attention and can hold its own against some higher-priced vanilla fragrances.

Almost forgot, best wearing time: autumn to spring.

Respectable sum of caramelized vanilla & completely inedible sea-air juniper (& sage/musk). Funny how much less cuddly unfood vanilla is.

No sea in sight. Instead, wonderful Christmas baking. Similar to Fire et Will, but a touch more delicate. Perfect for Advent.

It used to be nice. Vanilla with a delicate spiciness, a floral hint, and pleasant sweetness. Moderate sillage and medium longevity.

Almond brittle, rich, not heavy or sticky. A hint of salt, delicious! It deserves more attention, vanilla lovers, go for this scent!

Awful vanilla candle scent is overwhelming me!
Where's the salt? Where's the sage & juniper?
Artificial, intense stuff. Totally lacking any "marine" for me.

Vanille Marine is perfectly balanced in terms of sweetness and "edibility" and is just right for all vanilla lovers in spring/summer.

Enchanting gourmand that transports me to Brittany. Salted caramel on the galette. Vanilla adds spice. Harmony of sweet + salty. Wonderful!

Caramel unfortunately only makes a brief appearance. Then comes a floral-waxy candle vanilla. Sweet, but not a knockout.
