Is perfumery duped for Eternity?
Montale’s fragrances have very authentic aoud DNA, but this one doesn’t have quality of oud and not ever forestry at all. Marine and citrusy notes are very dominative and in few hours they are gone like a light breeze. Scent was done very close to “Eternity” by Calvin Klein. I feel like perfumery repeats itself with same like clones and identical accords. Longevity is very poor. Rose here is very shy or in minuscule proportion. If you want aromatic, synthetic, marine feel, why not to purchase less expensive version? Dupes are widely available. Gems are rare.

Ginger/Honey beer!!
I got a sample of Montale Aoudforest today with another Montale/Mancera samples.

It open with lemon note ( strong opening ) then it dry down to a kind of ginger honey beer, salty smell according to Seawater note mixed with grapefruit, i still smell it all the way like that until it's gone.

I think it's versatile, you can use it any time any season casually, for me it doesn't smell formal or sophesticated,
and it can be used by both genders even if i think it suits men more than women.

About projection and longivity, it project good, not beast or soft, longivity i get around 2 - 3 hours only.

Not bad, i give it 7 of 10 .

I wont miss you...
I cant smell any oud on this one, but only a watery note with some vetiver and ginger.

Nothing new on Aoud Forest. I did expect more.

Smells like a less sweet version of Vetiver Des Sables.

Not worth it in my opinion.

Pine Sol Opening; Dark Vetiver Drydown
Montale AOUD FOREST opens with a decidedly Pine Sol-y demeanor: citrusy, aromatic, and relatively loud, with a lot of evergreen trees creeping in shortly thereafter. What I interpret as brash may well seem merely bracing to others, but I don’t think that anyone can really deny that, at least at the outset, AOUD FOREST is far more masculine than feminine.

As the citrus and aromatics begin to fade, a dry vetiver-like woody base shows its face, reminding me vaguely of some of the more masculine Bond no 9 unisex edps (MONTAUK, BLEECKER et al.), especially the ones with gentle leather in them. I’m not smelling much in the way of aoud here, but it’s becoming plain after a few cases that Montale wields aoud with a measured hand. Most of the “Aoud” perfumes I’ve tried from this line do not emphasize the note, though they include it in the name-—perhaps for marketing purposes or to justify the cost? I’m thinking that some of these should be renamed: FOREST (with a jot of aoud), ROSE PETALS (ditto), etc.

I do find the smooth quasi-leather (would that be the ambergris?) vetiver drydown of AOUD FOREST rather likeable and something that I wouldn’t mind wearing in certain moods, but the Pine Sol opening is all-too-jolting for this tender nose. Désolée.

I can't see the forest for the trees...
...

Yet Aoud Forest sounded so enticing with "forest delight."

The Aoud reaches me clearly - but from which tree does the resinous scent originate?

Even my Mr. Forester is lost in this question - it seems to consist of phantom trees, as we both discover no greenery.

The Aoud is also gnarled and dry - not a drop of seawater in sight.
The addition of Forest is strangely chosen - at most, a barren forest after a dry spell comes to mind.

There was no shortage of rosemary, which only makes the scent more unwieldy.
A splash of lemon is merely a drop on a hot stone and fails to deliver the expected freshness.

A resinous - spicy scent that reminds more of scruffy underbrush than a cozy woodland area.

For me, the scent is too masculine - but even my husband graciously declines.
This time we agree.
Aoud Forest does not present itself as particularly inviting.

In front of this ghost forest stands a rusty sign - with the inscription:
No entry.

There is no oud, there is no forest, but there is a beautiful accord of marine and citrus notes. An easygoing fragrance, perfect for spring.

Unfortunately, there's little oud and little forest, but a lot of citrus and aquatic notes. It's okay, but why does Montale have to be so misleading?

Light new car aoud with a fresh, zesty-citrus vibe
Very office-friendly and suitable for summer
On the masculine side of unisex

Sea breeze in a citrus dress
Waves crash on wood
A shower gel in a tuxedo
Clear, cool, too masculine for me
The forest is silent - so am I

An unconventional scent: It's hard to believe that this mix of ingredients smells good.. but it does!
Allure Homme Sport is similar.

Amber-soft scent of the forest, lightly spiced and refreshed with citrus fruits! Peace, security in the sunlight of a dense forest.

The artificial agarwood trees use too much shower gel during the morning routine. Citrus cools, sweetness is annoying. Synthetic + metallic. For men.

Fresh - aquatic
It has a bit of fabric softener or aftershave vibe. I don't really see the forest here.

Any shower gel scent, metallic, fresh, fluffy, the rose crushed by the cedar imitation. A low point even for Montale. Soulless.

Fresh, aquatic-green fruity-sweet start. Slightly soapy-spicy. Becomes creamy over time. Unpleasantly synthetic.
