Aoud Forest Montale

I cant smell any oud on this one, but only a watery note with some vetiver and ginger.

Nothing new on Aoud Forest. I did expect more.

Smells like a less sweet version of Vetiver Des Sables.

Not worth it in my opinion.

Montale’s fragrances have very authentic aoud DNA, but this one doesn’t have quality of oud and not ever forestry at all. Marine and citrusy notes are very dominative and in few hours they are gone like a light breeze. Scent was done very close to “Eternity” by Calvin Klein. I feel like perfumery repeats itself with same like clones and identical accords. Longevity is very poor. Rose here is very shy or in minuscule proportion. If you want aromatic, synthetic, marine feel, why not to purchase less expensive version? Dupes are widely available. Gems are rare.

Rarely have I experienced such hatred towards a scent, such visceral hatred and disgust that on first impulse I wanted the sample destroyed immediately, while donning a hazmat suit and carrying it with a pair of tongs to a safe location to be disposed of properly, lest it contaminate the surroundings with its foul polluting odor. The same flinching instinct one feels when seeing a giant cockroach meander its way towards your defenseless body. Just ugh!

Incredibly synthetic air freshener opening that almost makes you wish that whatever it`s meant to cover up should just be allowed to breathe because it might just feel more natural and humane than this insanely "clean" ozonic vibe. I do admit that ambergris can be a tricky note for me, but in here, it`s just gag inducing when it comes on the scene. I suspect it`s the ambergris with musk that is responsible for the unrefined petroleum odor that starts screaming and wailing like a siren warning of an oil spill on a marine extraction rig. Loud and unbearable, beating its chest about everything that triggers it and invades its safe space, pushing you into a corner with its presence. Just one of the most awful things I`ve smelled in a long while.

I got a sample of Montale Aoudforest today with another Montale/Mancera samples.

It open with lemon note ( strong opening ) then it dry down to a kind of ginger honey beer, salty smell according to Seawater note mixed with grapefruit, i still smell it all the way like that until it's gone.

I think it's versatile, you can use it any time any season casually, for me it doesn't smell formal or sophesticated,
and it can be used by both genders even if i think it suits men more than women.

About projection and longivity, it project good, not beast or soft, longivity i get around 2 - 3 hours only.

Not bad, i give it 7 of 10 .

The only scent I like by Montale. This smells like mysterious woods.

This one remained nice in the dry down, like a soft woody powder.

I like it. I have nothing bad to say about it. The staying power is decent.

This can be worn unisex. It says it has a few floral notes, but I haven't really got that when I tried it on. It's a dry oriental soft powdery scent. Nothing too much, very wearable.

If you're a Oud hater like me, you might like this. The Oud isn't overpowering in this one.

Just natural Oud by itself doesn't smell good I can tell you that. It's bitter & pungent.

So when you're smelling a good Oud scent just know that it's not the Oud, because Oud doesn't smell good. It's a fungus that's formed on old tree trunks, that's Oud. Smells bad.
