Is it similar?
Let me start by saying if you own a lot of Montale fragrances, then this might just be an average fragrance. If you are starting a collection or just getting into fragrances, then chances are that this will be a love at first sight ... The combination of a tart but sweet green apple mixed with a nice red rose with a little touch of amber. This is a nice fragrance but for me, I own a lot of Montale fragrances and it's something that it is very similar to, but I just can't put my hands on it.

Smells like a high end cleaning product.
Personal: 6/10 – It's nice, but it's not something I could wear at all.
Mass appeal: 7.5/10 – Sweet fruity florals with musk are safe and likable.
Performance: 8/10 - Very solid, but not where most Montale frags are.
Value: 6/10 - Fair pricing, but still niche-lite prices for something kinda synthetic.
Uniqueness: 5.5/10 – Fruity-floral musk bombs aren’t unique, and this doesn’t break new ground.

SCORE: 66/100

Full bottle buy? NO, I’d rather wear other fruity citrus musks.
Blind buy? YES, if you want a safe, powerful citrus floral musk.
Recommend? YES, it’s a solid compliment-puller if you like citrusy musk bombs.
Date night? YES, it’s playful, fruity, and strong enough to be noticed.
Office safe? NO, too loud, a common theme with Montale fragrances.

Pros: Loud, long-lasting, fruity-musky citrus fragrance with great performance.
Cons: Synthetic, generic, syrupy. Not niche-quality blending.

Starry Nights is Montale’s take on a fruity-floral-musk that’s more polished than their usual rose-syrup bombs, but still is distinctly Montale-like with its sweetness and synthetic nature. It's not bad at all, but it's not something I find particularly wearable. To me, it smells kind of chemical-ey and cleaner-ish. It's for someone, but not me. I want to like it, as citrusy musks are something I usually love (Creed SMW) but this execution just isn't it.

A fruity floral musk on Montale steroids. Nothing unique, but very recognizable.

Review #105 in my fragrance journey – this fragrance I own as a decant

A starry night in summer
Okey it's not a typical summer scent, actually it's just a summer scent for those who dare to try something more flashy...at least in summer!

This Montale begins unusually fresh and at first not at all soooo heavy, as one is used to from Montale... FIRST!
At the beginning I smell a fresh shower note, but of a shower gel, which cannot be bought at dm or Müller, but rather in a more exclusive store! A shower gel which perhaps George Clooney uses... xD
After a while, however, the fragrance becomes softer and the typical Montale DNA emerges...it almost becomes a little powdery! One would not have thought! But it is like this!

As it is fresh and yet soft and powdery, I find it wearable for the summer ;) but it would also fit well at other seasons, as it is not ONLY fresh!

The name is somehow also program...because with a starry night I also associate something fresh, but which also brings a touch of romance and mystery! Just like this Montale :)

A purchase candidate for me in any case :)

Greetings
Angelina

For me, Starry Nights is still totally underrated.
Starry Nights is one of the most underrated fragrances out there for me. Montale doesn't come off so well here and there and yes, the bottles are really crap. In the past, the fragrances were often not really good either or often seemed very synthetic and sometimes scratchy But there have always been fragrances that were really good and Starry Nights is clearly one of them for me. Totally underrated, if it's up to me.

The fragrance starts slightly citrusy and fruity. A pleasantly tart bergamot blends here with the delicious apple, which exudes certain fruity vibes.
The apple creates a slight sweetness, something very slightly "tangy" and, as already mentioned, the fruity touch.

A pleasant rose note joins the impression just described relatively quickly. I used to hate rose accords. At some point I got more comfortable with them, but I still haven't become a huge fan. Nevertheless, there are fragrances where I find the rose totally appropriate, pleasant and beautiful.
This was and still is the case with Starry Nights. The rose is not too strong, it doesn't roar or overwhelm you. It is perfectly balanced, delicate and elegant.

As time goes on, some jasmine joins in and then comes the moment when the patchouli emerges. The patchouli note gives the whole thing something slightly earthy and in combination with the rose it also has a very slightly oriental effect.
The fragrance also gains more and more powdery impressions.

All in all, a really great fragrance and I think there will be one or two people out there who will enjoy it.

Starry Nights is often labeled as rather feminine. I can understand that approach somewhere.
For me, however, it is still a very clear unisex fragrance. We men can also wear this fragrance super well and yes, it also receives praise from the outside.

Longevity and sillage are also really good.
Starry Nights lasts about eight hours on my skin and projects really well.

Beautiful, takes some getting used to
When you pick up the bottle, it glitters like a star. And that's exactly how the fragrance begins→ fresh, sparkling, almost like a clear summer evening sky. But then it shows its true colors... Rose, jasmine, patchouli, amber, musk. Intense & dense.

No, no & no again.... Starry Nights is not the fragrance that you immediately "love". No, no, no... It is demanding, challenging, sometimes almost too much, too exaggerated. Yes, typical Montale. You have to get involved with it, wear it several times to discover the sparkle between all the heavy nuances.

Conclusion:

With a little patience, a multi-faceted composition unfolds, ranging from sparkling-fresh to darkly sensual. Sophisticated, idiosyncratic & absolutely fascinating.... Well, typically Montale (っ˘з(˘⌣˘ )

Now Montale has conditioned me in such way that I smell oud in almost every scent of this brand. Even where no oud is listed. :)

A slightly airy, fresh and fruity, yet dusty earthy-floral Mid season fragrance, balanced by a warm musky-woody base. Nice apple-rose combo!

Fresh-sweet opening, apples and roses. Dry-down into a sweet powdery scent. There are better fresh-sweet scents out there. But enjoyable.

A musky fruity floral bomb with Montale's signature sweet, syrupy DNA. Just not turned to a 10 like a usual. More like a 7.
