Poudre de Musc Intense Nicolaï 2021 Eau de Parfum

The best moment to enjoy sunshine is in the early morning. Not only will you be treated to the image of a beautiful sunrise, but those few rays of warmth through the cold air also make for a great skin sensation. Patricia Nicolai captures this moment in Poudre de Musc Intense.

The setup is a traditional floral-musk with a few winks: Aldehydes that keep the whole light and airy and a fruity-juicy note for playful sweetness. Over time the floral-musky heart stays strong and the aldehydes and fruity notes are toned down a little. When body temperature goes up the musks prove their quality and keep their charm. Even the sandalwood base comes into play. At all times, the character stays clean, soft and comforting.

A typical feel-good scent that leaves a lovely trail. Ideal for daily or leisure wear. Goosebumps.

This fragrance has unmistakenly the DNA of Patricia de Nicolaï: the airyness, the lightness... I get the image of an elegant lady in a flowershop. When she gets home she puts her bouquet in a vase and the flowers spread their fragrance into the room, that has open windows that look out on a beautiful garden. Like Mrs Dalloway in Virginia Woolfs novel the lady is preparing for a night with friends, a party. I get a very English vibe from this scent and unlike the novel it continues to be a happy, uplifting fragrance til the end. On my skin I do not get any musky powderiness at all, unfortunately. It was something I was expecting since this perfume has been inspired by the iconic (and powdery) White Musk from the Body Shop.
Beautiful, well composed and elegant scent, but too flowery for my taste.

Poudre de Musc from Parfums de Nicolai is all shimmering, gossamer aldehydes and soft, musky rose, and a gorgeous arrangement of sandalwood and orange blossom that a particularly artsy florist composed. It lights up a room with scintillating conversation, it’s both lively and restrained, people would invite it to parties and no one would ever give it weird looks or call it “extra,” or say, "man you were acting weird last night." Mothers-in-law would love it. It would never ever forget its mother-in-law's birthday, as a matter of fact, it probably calls its mother-in-law once a week to say hello. Objectively, it is beautiful. It’s perfect on paper. But it makes me feel awful about myself because those attributes are all of the things I am not

A coquettish, tripartite first act—smell the fruit; bite it; appreciate its light aftertaste. Fade out, fade in. A long rose note dances with sandalwood. Neither leads. Where is our namesake? She is the omniscient narrator, holding the scent to your skin but never influencing the characters. To me, nothing about this fragrance is heavy or notably animalic. The musk is definitely of the clean, soapy variety. She has good longevity—about seven hours during an active day—but the strongest of it fades after the second hour.

I got a sample of this scent sent along with some orders of mine, I decided to wear it to bed one night to test it out! I guess I should start with this, this scent is predominantly feminine, this smells like a woman's perfume, I wouldn't expect this to be unisex. However with that being said a man could pull this off, with some confidence! A man who dress's more feminine ain't going to have issues pulling this off either but it's not a manly man's scent. That being said this isn't normally a scent that'd be up my alley, I don't like overly sweet scents most of the time, I prefer the more predominantly masculine scents.

Silage and projection on this scent are insane, I put it on at 1AM one night and could still smell it on me 12PM the next day, that's 11 hours! The only other scent I have that last this long is "40 Knots | XerJoff" and the projection is really good, you don't need a lot of sprays, you could for sure go overboard with this scent!

This is a very powdery musky floral scent, it's a bit synthetic but not in a bad way, as mentioned it's definitely feminine, this is a scent I'd expect to smell on a woman! I am pretty sure I have before! I do really like the scent but in the way of I'd buy this for my girlfriend, not so much that I'd buy a bottle for myself however for some reason I think with a wool sweater, button up, tie and dress pants I could pull this off

Highly recommend testing this out if it sounds like a scent for you! Smells really good.
