Outside the wind whistles, inside the cat meows
Come to the dark side of the force, mu ha ha ha… oh! Wait! What a mess… this scent is called Dark Light and not Dark Side… mess mess mess, all my concept for this comment is gone, great…
Well then… first of all, a warm welcome to my latest comment, which I will have to improvise today. It’s about Prada Olfactories - Dark Light, which I mistakenly read as Dark Side and thought I could bombard you with many Star Wars stories again. I was really looking forward to it! *sigh*
Alright, then Dark Light it is. Dark light… whatever that is supposed to mean. The only thing that comes to mind is black light, which you’d rather not go into the bedrooms of perpetual singles like me, unless you want to discover the many suspicious stains on the floor, walls, and even ceiling… hrrmmm…. :D
According to the description, the scent is supposed to inspire oriental fantasies (it was clear that one would think of belly dancers now… :D), especially with its resins and warm-soft notes like vanilla. All of that sounds like a rather pleasantly soft and gentle scent, so I could talk about cats again, right? Hopefully, that will bring back all those who were scared off by my Star Wars mention! Although I will probably only mention the cat once AFTER the scent description, he he he :DD
Alright, now onto the scent!
The angelica definitely becomes much stronger later on, making this floral note come across as a bit heavier. Otherwise, it remains gentle and warm as before. And basically, that’s it, I think, since even in the base, the scent mostly smells like a nice mix of vanilla and myrrh.
Yes, the scent creates a pleasant feeling, even though I wouldn’t necessarily describe it as oriental. Although I must admit that I think more of roses, oud, and spices when it comes to oriental scents, and therefore don’t associate much oriental with this one. But that doesn’t really matter, because what’s important is how the scent smells, and this one simply smells very nice.
Due to its gentle and warm aura, it is for me an autumn and winter scent that could be used both alone and for nice evenings. It is definitely worth a test. I just think that for a winter scent, it could have a slightly higher sillage. But well, sometimes you can’t have it all. Nevertheless, as I said, it is definitely worth testing!
And that’s it, thank you for reading! I wish you all a lovely evening, do something nice (like watching Star Wars :DDD) and see you next time :)

Alright, now onto the scent!
The scent:
The scent starts immediately with a rather warm and soft combination of vanilla, amber, and resins, especially myrrh. Basically, the scent stays like described for a while. I would say that you can smell the angelica a bit later on, but without the listing in the scent notes here, I wouldn’t necessarily come up with that, although maybe that’s just me, since angelica is a note that is recognizable but doesn’t appear in many fragrances, and botany laymen like me could quickly forget its scent! The angelica definitely becomes much stronger later on, making this floral note come across as a bit heavier. Otherwise, it remains gentle and warm as before. And basically, that’s it, I think, since even in the base, the scent mostly smells like a nice mix of vanilla and myrrh.
The sillage and longevity:
The sillage is just okay, but for a scent with vanilla and resins, I find the sillage rather weak. Which is a bit of a shame, since such scents are usually worn more in autumn and winter, where the projection can be stronger. Well, if necessary, you just spray it on again. The longevity is good, though; you can still smell the scent (weakly) on the skin after over eight hours. The bottle:
The bottle is rectangular with beveled edges and has a dark blue tint. The label is gold-shiny (or was it metallic instead of a gilded sticker? I can’t remember, I haven’t held the bottles of these scents in my hands for a while) and shows the name and brand. The cylindrical cap is gilded and wrapped in leather, which looks elegant. A beautiful bottle. Conclusion:
Oh yes, this scent here has turned out very nicely. It is really warm and soft, even cozy and powdery. All these notes with vanilla and resins feel very gentle, beautiful, and even soothingly peaceful. It’s almost like on a cold winter night, where the icy wind outside would cut into your face, but you are safe inside, where it is warm and cozy. You look out the window into the dark, deserted night and are glad to be inside, where the heating or fireplace keeps the room warm. A warm blanket, which you usually throw over your shoulders, lies on the bed and has been claimed by the cat, who is just waiting for you to lie back down so you can cuddle. Yes, the scent creates a pleasant feeling, even though I wouldn’t necessarily describe it as oriental. Although I must admit that I think more of roses, oud, and spices when it comes to oriental scents, and therefore don’t associate much oriental with this one.
