Love or hate ?
This is a wearable patchouli fragrance, there is not more to add.

Texas cedar? More incense to me!
Opening is harsh (spicy), but when it calms down (after 1 hour more or less) it becomes a decent patchouli without annoying people around you.

Must say well blended (drydown is good), but not worth a full bottle.

Wow! What a fragrance! Expectations exceeded
The Midnight Train has completely convinced me.
Honestly, I didn't have very high expectations for this scent, but I was proven wrong.

With Midnight Train, you get a wonderful patchouli fragrance. Lightly earthy/dark and pleasantly spicy patchouli.
Furthermore, there are these super beautiful woody facets.
Over time, more and more sweet impressions emerge that create the impression of smelling a kind of patchouli liqueur.
There are also very mild citrus accords, which are really very subtle. However, they fit so wonderfully with the fragrance that the overall combination of all the accords creates a fantastic overall picture.
I even had the impression of perceiving some slightly floral nuances that give this fragrance a certain elegance. However, no floral accords are listed.

Midnight Train truly radiates a wonderful elegance, a certain seriousness, and it constantly gives you the feeling of smelling really good.
You have to keep smelling yourself; you look forward to catching a whiff of your own scent cloud every time the fragrance projects.

The start of the fragrance might not appeal to some people. I found the beginning to be nice, but it becomes more beautiful over time.
If I had liked the start as much as the rest of the fragrance, I would definitely rate it at least a nine.

Make sure to try out this relatively unknown fragrance.
Especially patchouli lovers will find pleasure in it.
Even patchouli haters might find something to like here.

Midnight Caresses
One thing upfront - the name of the fragrance is almost perfectly chosen.
However, I would rather give it a bit more love or desire in the name instead of a heavy tone. "Caresses" fits well, as the scent is extremely cuddly on the wearer and truly knows how to seduce.
It fits into the dark time of day, as it smells pleasantly warm of earth and thick, syrupy patchouli notes.
Already with the first inhalation, the warmth settles in.

I applied the fragrance after an extensive day at the spa, where I literally sweated out the toxins and everyday stress, including weeks of burdens, in the sauna. A thorough shower followed, where I rinsed away all my thoughts under a hard stream. Sometimes you just need that, especially after a tough time. It takes a while for everything to build up, but as they say, it eventually comes to a breaking point.
It was already night when I came out.

Arriving home, I wrapped myself in my blanket. The scent had become even more cuddly. It somehow calms you, gives you a sense of security. A gentle note of lemons tickles my nose, basking in the very last beat of the sunset. Earthy facets envelop the whole thing, with plenty of warmth still present. The scent of patchouli is not too heavy; it flows seamlessly within the perfume. Everything feels well-balanced. Sensually, I perceive resinous aspects that wedge themselves under the skin. It’s all so fluid, as if the fragrance was made to bubble. The -I feel good in my skin- feeling is emphasized here. Longevity and sillage are in the upper range.

At midnight, it was still there. The caresses were not over even after waking up. Probably in my dreams, the scent broke through my hazy dreams, because I hadn’t had a night like that in a long time, where I slept so deeply that the next morning I didn’t know which planet I was on.

You surely know the feeling, waking up and confusing day with night. Or the other way around. Once, I went to school at 8 PM in early summer because I thought it was 8 AM. :D But that’s another story.

What I want to say is that the fragrance snatches away your sense of space and time, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in its caresses. There aren’t many transitions. It’s a steadfast warmth that runs from beginning to end. With lots of caresses from patchouli, warm, spicy earth, shining in the shadow of lemon.

I love it and it’s going on the wish list.

To the unknown donor of the sample: Thank you very much!

The Night Train Through the Patchouli Honey Forest
First of all: I belong to the patchouli admirers, but I am a critical one. It must not smell like perfume oil spilled on ponchos in the 90s, nor should it be overloaded with citrus accords.
Patchouli can smell so good - and so unbearable.
For years, I searched and found nothing that truly appealed to me in the way I envisioned a patchouli perfume. Years ago, Bois 1920's Real Patchouli came close to my idea (though it was a bit too vanilla-infused for my taste). Close.
Then a few years ago, Tom Ford's Patchouli Absolu came along, and I was immediately smitten. That was exactly the scent I had imagined for years. Still one of my absolute fragrance favorites!
In the meantime, over the last few years, I have occasionally sniffed and searched for another patchouli scent that would blow me away - or at least please me.
Highly recommended in various forums and perfumeries were, among others, Etro, House of Oud, and Perris Monte Carlo. But even there, everything smelled too altered for my nose. Etro was too oriental and incense-like for me, PMC was too citrus-heavy, and HOU basically only smelled of (synthetic) rose; and that in almost unbearable intensity.
When I then had the opportunity to test Midnight Train, that feeling was there immediately. I was in love with a scent.
Yes, here too, the patchouli is blended with other (wonderful) accords. But everything fits together here, and the dark-warm patchouli keeps coming to the forefront despite all the other facets.
This is my first review, so I’m not quite sure how to ultimately describe the scent or conclude the evaluation.

Midnight Train is a dark-warm and earthy fragrance. It smells woody, of trees, firs, and cedars, and bittersweet honey. And beneath and above all this hangs a mist of that very dark-warm patchouli.
Past: Alone on the train to nowhere. In the middle of the night. The tracks lead through the fog-covered autumn forest. Here and there a ray of the rising sun.

Great scent, I've already ordered the 100ml at Selfridges and I look forward to every spray!

It is very gourmand to me. Opens with really sweet cherry jam and goes to vanilla drydown with sparkling-dusty citruses.

The best patchouli fragrance ever. You may go noseblind to it, but it lasts for days. It's a shame it's so expensive and impossible to find.

Smoky patchouli so well build. One of my top patchouli symbiosis.

There's a train going to nowhere,
with me alone as the passenger.
And the whole patchouli liqueur
so finely sweetened and amber golden,

The compartment of midnight blue velvet, tipsy from the liqueur, the forests rush by outside the window. So smooth. Let this night never end.
