New name. Same scent?
I purchased Infusion d’Iris Cedre and received a box of Prada Infusion de Cedre instead.

After being confused, I contacted Prada directly. There was some initial confusion on their end too, but after some time, I was informed Infusion d’Iris Cedre was renamed to this. I was told the formulas are the same so I’m not sure what accounts for this version being slightly lower rated.

This perfume does open with a nice helping of doughy Iris (the same found in her sister, Infusion d’Iris) but I was sad to see it soon fade by the midpoint.
As an iris lover, I never want to see it go.

The cedar here does lend the perfume to take on a slight “baby wipe” scent at the mid but it mostly settles by dry down. Iris does make a return at dry down.

That is not to say this perfume is poor. It’s not. It’s a soft, powdery (at mid through base), clean, pleasant scent.

Compared to other iris-cedar perfumes, this one isn’t as well done as I’ve smelled but for a simple, clean, uncomplicated perfume it does its job.

Office appropriate freshie that's searching for its soul: the iris.
Had I not known that the most famous of Prada's infusions features the iris, I still would have felt that this Infusion de Cèdre was somehow searching for a missing part of its soul. I haven't had the pleasure of sampling Infusion d'Iris (2007) Eau de Parfum, and I have to assume that Infusion d'Iris Cèdre is the same as this. Can anyone let me know, please? Because I see bottles of all three marketed in various corners of the web as three distinct fragrances.

Back to Infusion de Cèdre, it's a nice, intimate, powdery fresh scent that seems a bit masculine to me, a perfectly acceptable scent for the office. It has that freshly washed, dried in the sun white shirt smell. But, for me, it's missing something that would make it amazing and make me fall in love with it. And I have to assume that that something is the iris. Because without it, it's a good, but not particularly amazing perfume that I just have to have. So now, I have to find out what Infusion d'Iris (2007) Eau de Parfum is like. As a lover of the iris, my nose demands it.

Same same but different..
.. or also "The Great Prada Iris Test". Here you have to be careful like Schmitz' cat! Three fragrances, almost identical names, very similar scent pyramids - spoiler: I think they're all three great - but there are small, fine differences that I want to break down here.

Testing conditions: all three fragrances applied on the arm as simultaneously as possible

It should be mentioned right away that Infusion de Cèdre is considered the successor to the unfortunately discontinued Infusion d'Iris Cèdre. Why they left out the iris in the scent pyramid, who knows, maybe they wanted to market the fragrance as "more masculine"? But it’s there! On my skin, it even appears right from the start and amusingly more powdery than in the fragrance that has it in the name. This leads to the local comparison tool showing 'only' 44% similarity, nonsense...

Infusion de Cèdre comes across to me differently than listed here: dry, name-giving cedar with powdery iris, then becoming balsamically warmer with a bitter dried mandarin peel. Unisex. Well-groomed. Somewhat distant/tough. Extremely suitable for business. Quit playing games (with my heart)!

In comparison, Infusion d'Iris Cèdre has less mandarin, is a bit more mineral, with a few bright neroli sprinkles; I envision bright white lab coats (alternatively starched shirt collars) and stainless steel surfaces. Target audience identical. There really isn’t much between the two; I would say 90% identical, and then personal preference decides which one you might prefer. You definitely don’t need both.

The third in the group, and in direct comparison more feminine, is Infusion d'Iris (2015) Eau de Parfum (Be careful! Most people today are likely testing the 2015 version and not the original 2007 one..). Actually, only the weighting of the fragrance notes has been shifted in favor of the iris, and a bit of musk has been added, but that’s enough for me not to see it as suitable for men anymore.

Important in all three cases: powdery iris, not lipstick iris! And all the included fruits are unsweet, more dried/bitter than juicy-fruity.

The longevity is also business-suitable for me, maybe just a discreet touch-up during lunch break. But you won’t suffocate colleagues or leave a scent trail down the hallway (never say never, but you’d have to bathe in it for that). Usable all year round except in the absolute high summer.

Amber pour Homme with Cedar Note
The Infusion line from Prada has produced some quite appealing fragrances that initially seem monothematic but then turn out to be a bit more complex. Fortunately, "de Cèdre" is not just composed of cedarwood notes, but has some additional elements, here indicated with mandarin, benzoin, and incense.

So far, so good; however, these ingredients are hardly discernible. In contrast, a trace that reminds me of Amber pour Homme Eau de Toilette with its slightly dry powderiness is much more noticeable. The source of these vibes is completely left open by the fragrance pyramid and remains a mystery. This is actually further proof that one should not overestimate these pyramids.

At least the cedarwood fades relatively quickly, and what remains is for me very intensely oriented towards the soothing pleasant "Amber pour Homme (Eau de Toilette) | Prada." Sure, that's not necessarily the worst thing that can happen to a fragrance, but it does feel somewhat irritating when you were primarily expecting cedar.

Therefore: Infusion de Cèdre is a rather unexciting Eau de Parfum that plays the cedarwood card from the top note and then switches to "Amber pour Homme (Eau de Toilette) | Prada," which makes the creation more interesting, but for those who prefer a cozy powdery scent without much sweetness, it's better to go directly for the original.

This Cèdre smells very similar to Infusion d'Iris on me, but with a woody twist. Clean, unisex and neutral fragrance, great for the office.

I actually expected the typical "Prada Infusions DNA" enhanced with great cedar. Well, I recognize the DNA, but I feel +

Cedar is definitely there, but not sour like it often is. I can also sense resins and incense. Like!

If you want to apply the creamy-powdery Prada DNA to cedar, go for it here. I prefer a more ethereal-grassy (sic!) cedar.

There's an iris missing in the DuPy! Infusion d'Iris Cedre's successor, almost identical, slightly more dried mandarin peel; unisex, wonderful.

The finest cedarwood I know. Subtle, tactful, sensitive. Very tactfully and delicately made, making it easy to wear. Beautiful ))

Desperately searched for cedar.
Unfortunately, only found a soap from Schlecker for a buck fifty.
