A first time for everything
Returning yesterday from the Canarian Islands I went through the airport to board the plane. As usual, I met several salespeople who wanted me to try this and that. The one who succeeded was a lady who showed me a bottle and told me this was the new scent from Carolina Herrera. I let her spray my wrist, thinking “Why not?” Before thinking “why not?” I had already flicked through my directory and decided that I was willing to take the risk, since the fragrances I already know are ok. My partner later called me daredevil with a smile. He knows that I usually never wear a fragrance in public that I do not know. And here we were, about to board a plane and sit in a closed environment for 5 hours with a lot of other people. Well - there is a first time for everything.
To me, Carolina Herrera is a really decent brand. I have two of their fragrances, 212 and Flore EdP. I do know Good Girl, Bad Boy and CH. Flore is a really strong floral fruity scent from 1994 and Good Girl, a sweet floral from 2016 is strong and long lasting as well. Both have quite many notes and are complex fragrances, that you can revisit and experience new shades of the scent every time.
La Bomba is a strong scent as well. Sweet, floral but less complex. Four notes: Dragon fruit, Red Frangipani, Cherry Hill Peony and Vanilla. Simple as that. I especially like the dragon fruit/frangipani combo in this. It starts out so nicely and has a real interesting vibe. Like something is hidden, soon to appear. I do not find it cloying in any way, just nice and sweet with a fruity hint. Sniffing my wrist 7 hours later I still got the vanilla and a little floral. That is a decent longevity. As for sillage, nobody fainted on the plane and my partner told me, that he did not notice me wearing it.
This could end up being a new success to the House Carolina Herrera. The beautiful bottle surely adds to the experience. Quite inventive with a lovely colour.
