Paradoxe Virtual Flower
Clean, fresh, and airy floral. Its name is apt, as it smells like something fleetingly glimpsed or imagined. The kind of floral a computer might have created; a digital rendition of a flower. It quickly turns musky and a touch powdery, with the neroli and jasmine remaining very much in the background. It’s a good every day easy reach that doesn’t require too much thought. A very pretty, feminine, captivating scent - and one that in a way almost feels liminal in its too-good-to-be-true unnatural perfection.
Update 19/12/25: I recently found out that this is an AI-augmented scent, and I find that simultaneously both interesting and unsurprising as there is something ephemeral and (as I noted previously) almost too perfect about it that’s difficult to put into words. Apparently the perfumers used a programme called “carto” to create a “jasmine AI accord” from a micro lab of 1000 vials of jasmine variations, essentially creating something that doesn’t by itself exist in nature. An intriguing use of technology for sure, although one I hope doesn’t ultimately come at the cost of human creativity.
