Plum Nectar with Musky Undertones
The house of Swiss Arabian has already convinced me in terms of quality with "Shaghaf Oud | Swiss Arabian." That this was not just a lucky find is evident in the high quality that this fragrance exudes. Nothing smells cheap to me here; the scent impression is very dense, rich, and overall feels high-quality and well-balanced. Niche!
The fragrance opens with a lot of plum and cardamom, which, in combination with citrus fruits, appears like a rich nectar. Like nectar tends to be, this one is quite viscous and remains so throughout the entire scent development. The plum is very authentic, with a bit of sweetness, a bit of acidity, and is dark and ripe. So in this regard, it is not at all zesty like, for example, pineapple or pear, which gives this fragrance an adult character and sets it apart from the crowd. This scent impression is particularly beautifully complemented by the patchouli from the base note, which further highlights the earthy notes of the plum.
From the heart of the fragrance, (white) floral notes emerge, which fits well with the theme of nectar. The jasmine is clearly emphasized in this regard, which can be attributed to the addition of cashmeran, known for its enhancing effect on floral notes, especially jasmine. This multifaceted scent impression is rounded off by woods; I particularly smell the sandalwood and moss. This also excellently emphasizes the plum-patchouli combination.
However, the (white) musk is definitely worth highlighting, as it comes across very clean and lightens this dense and earthy composition a bit, so that no overly heavy or dark feeling remains on the skin. Rather, this fragrance, while dense, is very pleasant to wear. Here, cashmeran may also play its part.
The scent development is quite linear; after 5-6 hours, it loses some intensity but retains its character and does not simply dissolve into an undefinable mush, as one might expect from some designers. Towards the end, the amber and vanilla add a bit more sweetness, but otherwise, not much changes for my nose. Overall, it remains a fruity-earthy nectar with clean accents. The longevity was also convincing, lasting about 8-9 hours with good sillage for 4-5 hours.
I like it and immediately acquired a 50ml bottle after testing. It is very high-quality and is a real highlight in my cabinet!
