Serenity
One should open the door and the gate to cheerfulness when it arises - so says an old proverb.
And this is especially true in these uncertain and insecure times.

So I liked to try Mon Paris floral, because I like the EDP also because of its lively nature.

I was not disappointed, because Floral is just as carefree as the EDP, but makes an even more flowery statement.

The jasmine shines brightly and the orange blossom gently warms the fragrance.
Jimsonweed and peony have a subtle sweetish effect - but the fragrance remains in the balance.
Patch gives it depth without weighing it down.
Cashmere wood contours this friendly fragrance - and gives it casual elegance.

Nevertheless, Floral remains suitable for daylight because it presents itself very relaxed.
But also when going out in the evening, he is a chic companion.

It appeals to me even more than the EDP because it seems even more adaptable.

He prances on my wish list on a borrowed foot.

Chicken Dopiaza and the perfume that does it all
Yesterday we had Indian food with friends. Very tasty! I had Chicken Dopiaza again and everything was perfect: the chicken, the tomatoes, the onions, the sauce, the rice. Mmmmhhhh.... I was very greedy yesterday, a dessert with tapioca pearl cream, finely sliced fruit, vanilla ice cream and mango sauce was also necessary. Mmmmhh...
So far, so good The conversation was different: there was talk about Italy, about Ravenna and Faenza, and never made visits. About degrees, grades, challenges that life has brought with it. Back then. One tends to present things in memory a little differently than they really were. There is justification, apology and competition for who had the hardest time, for whom the conditions were the most miserable. And so on. You must know. And it can also be that one gets grumpy, to put it very gently. Then a change of topic is needed very quickly: the present. But: not better either. There they justify, excuse and compete again. So much stress these last few months. So horrible everything. Yeah, before everything with us. What do you mean, you too? And so on. You must know. And then there's this whole other thing that needs to happen really quickly and... yep! At last! It worked!
"You, smell me, how do I smell?" -
"Perfume?" -
"Right. What do you think of that?" -
"Uh... good. What's that smell?" -
"To Plum!" -
"Oh!" -
"Yeah, I've been working on some perfume and..." -
"Super! Great! I need your advice on that! I absolutely must have a new one, mine is empty!" (Inconceivable state: a perfume? And that empty?) -
"Yes, I'd love to... what do you like?" -
"Uh... it can't be too hard!"
"Ah, okay..." -
"It may be flowery." -
"Okay?"-
"Rose. I tried one at [Confidential Niche Perfumery] that was... that was..." -
"Oh, great, you were there?" -
"Yes! That was from an Englishman... about 100 euros..."
"Penhaligon's"? It cost more..."
"What was that called again? That was with oats..." -
"No, barley..." -
"No, I know now: Barney. "
"Barley? Rye?"
"Yes, Barley... it was an Englishman..." "MOOOMENT... Super Perfuma researches... Yeah, Poppy & Barley by Jo Malone! Sorry, I don't know him! I'm sure it's great..."
"Nah, it was great. But was too strong."
"Oh... and else..."
"There was another one... Turquoise, elaborate packaging..."
"Tiffany's?"
"Yes, exactly... that was nice too... But it can't be cute. Not with vanilla.. "I like Tiffany's, too. But surely it was very different from Jo Malone?"
"Yes... it could be with Rose. Or not. And restrained. I used to always have Guerlain."
"Really? I can't remember, I didn't use to be so into perfume. What was that called? "
"I can't remember. By the way, it can also be harsher."
"And woody?"
"Yes!"
"And resinous?"
"Yes!"
"And green?"
"Too!"
"Or rather flowery?"
"Yes! With Rose. Or not. "
"Ah... okay... "I'm looking for you..
And as you can imagine: I will accomplish this difficult task by first of all recommending this: "Mon Paris Parfum floral". I think that has everything my girlfriend is looking for.
It's: fresh! At the beginning wonderfully fresh and light! There is a very, very delicate green note in the middle of a fresh, light flower bed. So beautiful! The orange blossom gives this gentle freshness, which bergamot or similar stronger citrus notes can never match.
This is accompanied by a bouquet of magnolia and peony, which are very gentle and reserved anyway. In it, the delicate green is only very easy to guess at, you have to make an effort, but you notice it.
Instead of an ostentatious sweetness or a crass, overstated tuberose, a delicate powdery note is added here, which lends the beautiful bouquet a wonderful balance: Flower is here flower, not sugar. Powder is powder, not meter-thick dust. Everything so tender and fine and at the same time from a very reserved Sillage. Unobtrusive, but sophisticated.
The thorn apple has hidden a little. There is no "Datura noir" and no "Datura blanche" to sniff, just a very delicate note, which might weigh in a little bit of it.
The whole thing nestles fantastically against the beautiful base of musk, patch and cashmere wood: while patch is hardly noticeable, the base is very reminiscent of the beautiful "Code Cashmere" and is also in balance with the other notes. There's no screaming, there's no running around.
Everything finely tuned to each other in perfect harmony. And not cute. Minimal green. Minimal powdery. Minimal wood. Very nice and flowery. The perfect fragrance for my girlfriend, I think. I can't wait to see how she likes him. And if she doesn't like him, maybe I should go on with Yves' classic "Paris". Here we have the rose.
