Aptly Named

This is a fragrance starts so delectable that it tempts you to lick the skin of the person wearing it. It starts with a berry sweetness, a natural sweetness that you typically don't get with other BTSO fragrances. The berries mix with the boozy, spicy, and woody notes. This is drinking cognac off of a lover's lips. Its a great start to the fragrance and I wish it would last a little longer. The berries, booze, and spice mellow out into a creamy wood vanilla dry down, its good but fairly basic.

This fragrance lasted all day, over 8 hours. The projection was good but not super strong, so its office appropriate. A 50ml will cost you $205.

When Sugar Addict became Drunk Lovers

I really wanted to test the Sugar Addict from BTSO, because I had read and heard so many good things about it.
No sooner said than done.
Well, when the package with the fragrance samples arrived, the Sugar Addict wasn't there, but a 5ml sample of Drunk Lovers was.
What? Wondering, I checked all the samples again and found nothing. So I checked the order again - and lo and behold - I had "misclicked".
Well, never mind, I'll try the Drunk Lovers now. And what can I say - I was thrilled from the first spray, the fragrance is simply a dream.

It starts fruity, fresh and juicy. I only detect very subtle citrus notes, but deep red, dark berries, albeit with a slight sweetness. My nose also sniffs woody parts of the berry bush and I imagine that the stem of the berries has also been woven into the fragrance But then a pleasant alcoholic note quickly emerges. It smells of cognac, but could also be an expensive rum. This alcoholic note harmonizes very well with the fruit, it is never too dominant although it has a certain depth.
It becomes sweeter and spicier in the drydown, but it never becomes too much. You feel slightly "tipsy", cozy, warm.

Hours after spraying it on, I could still smell the fragrance on my wrist - soft, vanilla with a hint of cognac in the background.
After wearing it several times, I finally have a full bottle of Drunk Lovers on my shelf. (Sugar Addict who?)
