Powdery, sweet fresh - interesting, but not hugely moving

Sampling Borntostandout Dirty Heaven, a bright, sweet, powdery blend of jasmine, tonka, musk, neroli, vanilla, amber, and woods, overall pretty pleasant but with a bit of a peach candied quality amidst the smoother elements of flowers and sweets, definitely a bit feminine-leaning, stereotypically, but overall, fairly pleasant and likely versatile. It’s an example of a fragrance that I’d rather smell on someone else than myself, however, and I think it would likely be a turnoff for those weary of floral, powdery, or sweet fragrance, as it’s not too subtle in any of those respects. I think it’s a decent offering but not one that I particularly gravitate towards.

As with the rest of the house’s collection, this is EDP concentration and priced at $210/85 for 50/15ml, not bad in the current market for niche perfume, and it performs very well on me.

A temptation to which one cannot say no

Imagine the whiteness of heaven.
Well, now make it gloomy, enrich it with flowers at the end of flowering, with a slightly sweet and unexpectedly magnetic scent--you have dirty heaven.
A combination of florals and saffron made sensual by ambroxan that makes this fragrance irresistible, alternating moderation with stronger notes, in short it's always there but every now and then it comes out even more overpoweringly.
From the first time I smelled it I loved it, and immediately desired it.
A temptation to which one cannot say no.

Addictive Vanilla

I went through my 5ml sample in an hour. That’s how instantly obsessed I became. I sprayed it before bed and all night I kept catching these dreamy wafts like I was wrapped in some warm, hypnotic cocoon. It’s addictive, comforting, and incredibly strong for a sample.
I didn’t hesitate I ordered a full bottle immediately.

There’s definitely a mix of white florals here (I’m guessing tuberose and maybe hawthorn?), but they’re more like background singers. They add a soft, creamy texture without taking over. The main players are clearly saffron, vanilla, tonka, and something warm and musky probably grey amber or ambroxan. It’s smooth, radiant, and just the right amount of sweet and skin-like.

Not your typical white floral bomb this one has depth and mood. I can’t stop thinking about it.

Its like when you have been eating vanilla ice cream your whole life but one day you decide to splurge on the expensive vanilla ice cream. The kind made with high quality cream and real vanilla, it has flecks of vanilla bean throughout the ice cream. This fragrance is that really good vanilla ice cream, not that artificial overly sugary vanilla stuff. This is gentle sweet with soft floral and a hint of woodiness from the saffron in the background. Its warm and complex.

This is a soft aromatic, so it doesn't project off the skin without knocking people out. The scent lasted all day, over 7 hours. It is $205 for a 50ml bottle.

Oh, how sweet!

Yes, Dirty Heaven definitely smells synthetic. However, that is exactly what makes it appealing to me.
Friends of pure and innocent naturalness will (probably) not be happy here. Quite the opposite!
The admittedly squeaky-sweet saffron is so clearly noticeable right after spraying on the skin that further exploration of the scent is likely already over if one does not warm up to this note. It remains perceptible the whole time, and in my case, even when I wear the fragrance myself. However, that doesn't bother me.
The saffron is complemented by a note that strongly reminds me of the cinema or the popcorn in the cinema (I really enjoy going to the movies!).
After about 2-3 hours, vanilla takes on the role of the counterpart to saffron. As mentioned, everything is very sweet, and I can't shake the feeling of getting a bit of a toothache while sniffing it ;).

Dirty Heaven is an uncompromising, eye-catching, and quite linear scent in its development. In my surroundings, it has always been received quite well. Here, as is often the case with sweet and heavy fragrances: The dose makes the poison.
