Great Le Male Dupe

Le male has this nostalgia effect, for me, it reminds me of the mid 90s, this dupe brings me back, love to use it for evenings in the colder months, even though a bit dated, still a clean smelling well balanced type of scent.

Being it for a club, or just for a night out, this is sometimes a no brainer when using dark clothes, easy to use, wearable in most evening situations.

Great dupe with an AMAZING price

An "old sailor" returns!....

...And is as fit as he was over 30 years ago. His mates from the Gaultier ship could take a leaf out of his book today. Because the one from the "Caline" has neither put on fat nor is he an exaggerated muscleman. It has everything that the new ones tend to lack: A wonderfully yeasty-sweet, spicy blend of cardamom, cinnamon, mint and lavender. Caraway and bergamot support the wonderful mix of fragrances, no one exaggerates, swaggers in complacency or boasts in olfactory weightlifting. For my nose, this has a very special appeal. When fine vanilla and a hint of tonka are added, which are decorative accessories for the balsamic woods without pushing themselves to the fore, the "vintage feeling" is complete. I am happy to admit that I bought "Le Male" what felt like ages ago, before the perfume era. The contents lasted a long time... when it ran out, I sniffed the newer one and, disappointed, didn't buy any more. Now it's back with me, only from a different "ship"! :-))

New benchmark with a 5-euro perfume

Caline sets a new standard with this perfume. For €5, you can buy a very good fragrance with proven genetics. The fragrance comes with a floral-spicy sweetness, which is accompanied by a freshness at the opening.

The quality of the perfume is very good across all categories. It lasts for many hours on the skin and radiates well. Even the bottle looks reasonably elegant, but at the same time does not fail to fulfill its practical function. The lid clicks into place and sits firmly. The spray head is neat. Anyone expecting a cheap sprayer like that of Lamborghini or Adidas perfumes will fortunately be disappointed.

The more expensive competition, from Cuba Gold Eau de Toilette to CR7 Eau de Toilette, is easily swept aside by Infinite Navy. And in every respect.

More and more often, perfume is mercilessly overpriced. If you want to declare war on the current pricing policy, you could arm yourself with this.

I can't let go...

I've had the original Le Male at home for a few days now because I liked Caline's fragrance so much that I used it up in no time and thought I absolutely had to get the original. Unfortunately, I have to say: I am disappointed. I keep trying to convince myself that I like the original better - only to finally come back to the realization that I simply like the Caline fragrance better.

Compared to the original, this one is much fresher at first and reminds me a little of a freshly poured cola. The original, on the other hand, reminds me more of cough syrup or some other medicine - perhaps this is due to the caraway. In my opinion, the drydown is slightly better in the original: the sweetness here is lighter, almost creamy or powdery. In the Caline, the sweetness is somewhat heavier and a little overloaded. Although I never noticed this before - this perception probably only came about through direct comparison.

Then comes the final chord ... no difference. I keep trying to convince myself that the original smells better here ... but no. Depending on which fragrance I smell first after a short pause, this one comes out on top.

As for the longevity: I sprayed both fragrances on one arm. Both reached the heart and base notes at the same time. The original is perhaps slightly longer perceptible - but really only slightly.

Only now do I realize what a first-class fragrance Infinite Navy actually is. I keep trying to convince myself that the original is the better fragrance ... I think it's called post-purchase dissonance. ^^

Pleasantly warm Le Mâle for 7 euros

First of all, I like the scent.
But first things first:
In my opinion, the fragrance opens incredibly warm and opulent, with an almost numbing heaviness. Contrary to the expectation that the mint in the top note, for example, should result in a fresh, invigorating start. I don't notice the mint at all. In the heart note and later on, the caraway gives a spicy depth that meets a very warm base with the sandalwood of the vanilla and the tonka bean. You can smell that too!
The longevity is "okeee", but rather weak for an EdT. At least on my skin. The sillage, on the other hand, has a balanced presence, absolutely not overwhelming, nor should it be. Everything is perfectly fine for a fragrance that is available at DM and Müller.
The bottle doesn't look bad, you read other things here, but I find it beautiful and pleasant to the touch. The atomizer is ok.
All in all, a recommendation for 6.50.
