Not bad, just lacks flare
Floral and oudy opening, i'm getting lotus and lavender mainly, backed by cypress and ambergris, this is a pretty generic ensar smell. A touch of civet starts peeking out now, but still really light. So this is just another airy, green and a little soapy ensar chypre, i think i do like it more overall than kam kyoryo (because they are quite similar), just because it feels a little deeper, and for sure better quality on the florals in here. Basic soapy lavender and oud but done surprisingly well, it's quite satisfying but gets underwhelming after a while.

Floral chypre with dry green opening
Blue Kalbar opens with a kind of dry, aromatic, green feel which is quite nice. I wish it lasted longer, since the heart and base get boring quickly. The opening is overpowered by a soapy lavender which transitions the scent into a tame potpourri-esque floral chypre. Cedar rather than moss is the prominent woody note (which considering the price is criminal, this scent should noticeably feature high-quality sandalwood and oud at $20/ml), and the animalic and resinous facets are very quiet.

For the 5th time in as many EO reviews, I'm just confused as to why it's so expensive. Musk Khabib Extrait de Parfum runs rings around this compositionally, and is a similar animalic floral cedar-based chypre. Blue Kalbar lasts a bit longer on my skin, but apparently according to the votes on Parfumo they are identical in performance. Perhaps the cheaper essential oils like lavender, cedar, and cypress are higher concentration in the EO (the opening does feel very natural), but I'm not getting discernable sandalwood or oud, and the animalics are not more prominent or higher-quality than in Musk Khabib. So what am I paying an extra $400/30ml for? A worse scent?

Harmonious Contrasts
Blue Kalbar SE is quite the olfactory journey that I am not too familiar with. From the very start, the fragrance exudes an air of richness, with an incredibly unique and calming nature. The blue lotus is a revelation for me as this is the first perfume I have had that really puts blue Lotus at the forefront. It has a buttery warmth and subtle sweetness that are unlike anything I’ve encountered. I think the closest thing it reminds me of is a high quality iris or orris butter. It has an ethereal or airy quality that seems light and fleeting, but yet it is projecting heavily off my skin.

The many different floral elements creates a delicate bouquet, balanced by the woody, honeyed undertones of blue cypress and kewda. There is also a creaminess to the fragrance from the sandalwood and ambergris. The ouds add a depth and an almost incense-like facet without overshadowing the softer floral components.

As it develops, the fragrance becomes even more nuanced. Notes like Ta’ifi rose and cedar are detectable. The overall experience is one of harmonious contrasts: cool yet warm, soft yet structured, intimate yet grand.

Blue Kalbra was a complete blind buy for me, and I am very happy with the outcome. This is the softest, most delicate perfume I have experienced from Ensar, and I am very pleased. This is a welcome departure from the smoky, oud heavy fragrances I typically wear from the house.

Dry, cool air, wood and sap. The cypress woodiness, nutmeg and some florals stand out- these spell a breezy, meditative scent.

Different from new blue/purple ensars
Rather blended (lotus, nutmeg, drop of rose, sth fresh)
Nice and easy
More nutmeg than expected though

Spicy start, lavender, rosemary, herby cypress wrapped in a slightly animalistic cream cocoon. Floral notes emerge, tricky...
