An extremely exciting fragrance
Many thanks to Nick for the bottling of Purple Haze :-) This is one of the few fragrances from Ensar Oud that actually appeals to me, even if it is again a very idiosyncratic perfume. The longevity is amazing and lasts well over 15 hours. Even after 24 hours, the fragrance is still perceptible close to the skin, which is due to the oily texture that develops on my skin during application. The sillage is also very pronounced so far.
The top note initially smells very fruity to me and reminds me of Fanta in the flavors of orange and mandarin. The heart note continues with a fruity scent of orange and mandarin peel with a hint of raspberry. This is followed by floral notes of blue lotus, hyacinth, rose water and jasmine blossom. Over time, a spicy woodiness emerges, which reminds me of fir, rosewood and Szechuan pepper. The base smells decidedly woody and earthy like oud with some vetiver. But it doesn't smell too blatant or even animalistic like many other Ensar Oud fragrances, but rather pleasant. There is also a certain leatheriness to it.
In the end, I am quite taken with it, but I should hide the price, because otherwise it hurts again...
