My poor little nose...
Many thanks to Nick for the bottling of White Nights :-) In the end, my nose was once again totally overwhelmed and not really impressed. Once again, this is an oud fragrance that smells really earthy and musty. The longevity is good at around 8 hours and the sillage is also within reason.
The top note starts somehow strangely fruity with a subtle sweetness. Then I recognize dried plums and ribwort syrup with a hint of labdanum. The heart note is reminiscent of flowers such as iris, violet and mimosa with a hint of smoke. The oud then strikes mercilessly in the base. It smells very musty, earthy and root-like but also somewhat woody and resinous.
Once again, this is one of those ultra-expensive oud fragrances that I simply don't like olfactorily. Too bad.
