Incense offering in a monastery
Named after the Tiger's Nest monastery in Bhutan, here we have a really nice and wearable interpretation of a dank, resinous incense. It is austere, but approachable. The namesake monastery complex has a series of caves, which were used for meditation. One can imagine the lighting of incense offerings in these caves by the guru and his disciples who founded the monastery - a really nice fragrance-poem conjured by this scent.
Opening with peppery aldehydes and a slightly jarring boozy absinthe, the fragrance settles into the airy yet potent incense. The incense note is supported by resins and dry woods. Despite the inclusion of vanilla and amber notes, there isn't a lot of sweetness. And though it is part of the "Fleurs Bohèmes" collection in Memo's catalogue, the florals are not that apparent, either. Performance is great. Price is good too, it is available for ~$125 on discounters. Definitely worth a try for incense lovers!
