It could have been so beautiful, and then came the nasty rose
Portobello Road, certainly one of the most famous streets in Notting Hill, a district of London. an extremely busy street, especially because of the local market.
It mainly sells food, but crafts and antiques can also be found there.
However, I can't make a connection with the local fragrance.
Memo Paris doesn't have too many "different things" to offer, which I very much regret.
The start is still passable so far, with strong green notes, a bit like finely grated green leaves, whose slight bitterness is also evident. The whole thing is well flanked by mandarin, i.e. a slightly fruity note. Nevertheless, it remains consistently green and leafy.
This is followed by the bitterly evil impact, which for me puts the fragrance miles offside.
The rose (Rose Absolue) is almost brute and merciless.
I am immediately reminded of Toy Boy, which I rated as one of the worst fragrances with a 2.0 rating.
Although Portobello Road is nowhere near as penetrating as the SM-look bear, I still can't associate any sympathy with it.
This artificial, sweetish cloud of roses is omnipresent from minute 15 onwards and, in my opinion, also prevents the development of the base notes, which could have been so beautiful.
Asphalt, rain accord and vetiver, I was already dreaming joyfully...
It remains a dream, because none of it develops and none of it I can really recognize.
Perhaps also because I have an extremely critical and allergic reaction to this rosy hullabaloo.
All in all, I miss the overall balance and harmony here.
The fragrance lingers on my skin for seven hours, the silage and projection is moderate to quite noticeable.
In the end, a fragrance to forget for me.
