Well-Balanced Rose-Oud Fragrance with Violet
I hope all perfume lovers have entered the year 2024 well and healthy, and I’m starting the new year with a review of Ojar Stallion Soul. Already on the market for 2 years, this beautiful fragrance has not even received 60 reviews. It clearly flies under the radar. The two fragrances Infusion Velours Eau de Parfum and Wood Whisper Eau de Parfum from the Ojar brand are somewhat better known. Overall, this brand from Dubai is worth checking out, as it appears extremely high-quality and does not seem excessively overpriced.
Purchased in December, I got the 15ml version that was on sale at the time. Otherwise, the 15ml costs €50 and the 100ml is around €200 if you don’t take advantage of a sale. A fair price, especially if you can get a 10-20% discount. I also like the 15ml offer, as it allows for extensive testing before deciding on a larger size. Unfortunately, it’s a bit pricey on a per ml basis.
The bottles are quite stylish, and the travel spray comes with a nice cover. The box looks extremely elegant and simply has a luxurious appearance.
It is said that this Stallion Soul bears similarities to the highly hyped "Ombre Nomade | Louis Vuitton." I can’t fully agree with that, even though these two fragrances have some commonalities. I find this Stallion Soul to be significantly more sensual and not as overpowering, which I quite like.
Stallion Soul is, for me, a perfectly balanced fragrance that showcases a bit of everything: noble flowers, light oriental notes, stylish leather, pleasant spice, and subtle sweetness.
The main player in this creation is clearly the rose. For the first few hours, the rose is always in the foreground. For me, it’s a very noble and not overly feminine rose. Rather, it’s a beautiful dark rose, which fits better in the evening. A wonderful violet note accompanies it. A great note that often gets overlooked. This rose-violet blend is already very distinctive and interesting. Leather is added, which fortunately does not overshadow the rose-violet but harmonizes beautifully in the background. Especially the first 3 hours, for me, this is a wonderfully balanced fragrance with a lot of sex appeal. After that, this fragrance becomes a bit darker, especially as the rose-violet begins to fade. Dark patchouli, leather, musk, oud, and also a subtle sweetness come to the forefront. A great dark mix.
Overall, for me, it’s an absolute feel-good fragrance without being too ordinary. Unisex is justified, even though it will likely have more male fans. With this beautiful dark DNA, it is perfect for wearing in the evening or at night.
The performance is good, but it cannot compete with fragrances like Ombre Nomade. However, I think that’s a good thing. A great companion that projects well beyond the skin. A fragrance that leaves a serious impression. The longevity is also convincing, with a minimum of 10 hours of wear.
An 8.6 is absolutely justified, but it deserves a bit more spotlight. Let’s see if one day it will be the 100ml or if it stays at the 15ml.
