Arabic version or also a "twist" with whatever of the Irish Memo Paris
Hello dear fragrance friends,
I became aware through social media of a new clone of the Memo "Paris Irish leather."
The Zimaya (Afnan) Royal leather is a sweet saffron scent with a hint of Irish leather DNA, which after about 1.5 hours develops into a close-to-skin sweet-balsamic saffron (leather if you will?!) and (oud) plus a little fougere scent.
In the later dry down, it becomes increasingly sweet, spicy, woody with a very slight fougere and lightly floral note, reminiscent of a delicate suede handbag with a squashed forgotten praline inside ;)
It's strange though, at least to my nose.
It generally smells delicious, quite interesting and almost a treat :D
It could also be that I perceive it differently soon or that the clone might still mature a bit.
Caution: everything is subjective :)
It's also interesting that there is an Irish leather oud from Memo Paris. The Zimaya has oud listed; whether that might have been an inspiration for this Zimaya, we will probably never really know.
It remains exciting, I will continue to test and wear the fragrance.
Let's see where the journey leads, but so far it cannot replace or substitute my Memo Paris Irish leather decant or my "Maison Alhambra Dublin leather."
Scent: 6.5 out of 10, quite pleasant
Longevity: actually 10 hours
Sillage: strong for the first 2 hours, about an arm's length, and then more intimate
Price/Performance: 9/10
Bottle: 8/10
