What are your favourite layering combos.

I usually layer sweet / gourmand fragrances with Baccarat Rouge 540 Eau de Parfum and rarely wear the latter on its own. Layring with BR540 seems to increase the longevity of some weak performing fragrances in my experience, (a.k.a most Van Cleef fragrances 😒).

Some of my favorite layering combos are

Baccarat Rouge 540 Eau de Parfum + Bois Doré

Baccarat Rouge 540 Eau de Parfum + Orchidée Vanille

Ivory Route + K'Bridge Club

Santal Pao Rosa + Oud Imperial Eau de Parfum

Crystal Saffron Eau de Parfum + Gossip Night

Oh I'll try that one out ! Ivory Route + K'Bridge Club

Sounds promising !

I love Grasslands by Paraphrase (sweet, warm, golden grassy scent)  but it always feels a little like it's missing something for me. I recently tried layering it with A City on Fire by Imaginary Authors and that really rounded it out for me. It smells like a prairie fire that consumed an old car... but in a good way!

I’ve played around with a few ideas, and still have others to try. I tend to prefer layering perfume over an oil or body lotion/cream to layering two different perfumes. But here are some I’ve come across and liked:

- Nest Wisteria Blue over Bath & Body Works Fresh Cut Lilacs body cream

- Marc Jacobs Perfect Intense over Nemat Amber oil

- Lancôme Idôle Nectar over Bath & Body Works In The Stars body cream, Sand + Fog Marshmallow Skies oil, or Nemat Amber oil

- MITH Another Tea over Nest Indian Jasmine oil

- Burberry Her Elixir over Sand + Fog Strawberry Spritz oil, or Lake & Skye 11 11 Azure (I haven’t tried the latter in a while but I remember it smelled like a summer fruit salad, of all things?)

- Lancôme Idôle Aura over Bath & Body Works Always & Forever or Pure Wonder body cream, and more recently I’ve tried it with Lore Sublimity

- Sand + Fog Pear Blossom oil over Bath & Body Works Sweet Pea body cream

- Nest Indigo over Sand + Fog Spring Morning oil

And for tonight, I’m trying the new Sand + Fog Peony & Lily oil over Bath & Body Works Always & Forever body cream. Going to see if the rose combo works or not.

I know that Solinotes perfumes are made to layer with each other (or to use without layering). But they are very versatile with other perfumes as well. There are two 100ml bottles that I am trying to finish right now.

On the Edge This one is actually very good. But the 100ml bottle is too much for me. It’s getting boring I crave something different.

Fantasy Eau de Parfum This one I find really abrasive and this is my most boring experience with a 100ml bottle. I can’t wait to finish it.

However they both work really well with Fleur d'Iris because they have enough notes / accords in common. I put Fleur d'Iris first, wait 5-10 minutes and then apply the other fragrance.

Fantasy becomes more relaxing, cozy, less abrasive.

On the Edge, oh wow, Fleur d'Iris just bring the best of that bottle. It makes On the Edge more elegant, slightly less edgy but still has a story to tell.

I tried another layering combo and it’s Fantasy Eau de Parfum with Qissa Delicious. It works really great and bring the gourmand notes of Fantasy Eau de Parfum. I was so annoyed with the fruity-kiwi part of Fantasy and wanted the cupcake and chocolate ! Qissa Delicious allows that.

These layering combos really saved my two 100ml bottles and made my experience less boring. I dislike layering perfumes I love, but layering perfumes I am bored with is extremely helpful.

I’ve just tried Vietnamese Coffee paired with Piano Santal and GODAMN it’s really pure Dark Academia heaven, totally unisex, not sweet at all, and I freaking love my discovery

Nemat oils are the layering GOAT for me.

In the summer, I LOVE Nemat Egyptian Musk oil underneath Versace Crystal Noir. It adds such complexity to an already fantastic frag.

In the winter, I use a ton of Nemat Amber Musk. I love amber musk under Guerlain Angelique Noir as well as Kilian Angels Share. I find it really cuts through the sweetness and tones it down on Angel's share for me, which I love.

I generally like thick amber only when paired with airy flowers, so Full Perfume Oil with Supremacy Incense is a big combo for me!

Though any such pair would work well in my opinion, using anything like Jasmin Full or Lust Perfume with anything like Interlude Man or Grand Soir Eau de Parfum.
