Oud Xerjoff Alexandria II
by Kurai | Perfumes & Brands
...Yeah I recognize that powdery part, but didn't get any latex association. Felt quite luxurious to me. "Oud Stars - Alexandria III | XerJoff" is all about that powdery sensation too.

Oud Xerjoff Alexandria II
by Kurai | Perfumes & Brands
...Oud is like stinky cheese (in multiple ways, really), “an acquired taste” so to say. First experiences can be shocking. The nose simply is not ready for those pungent odors. It takes getting used to, until your nose is trained and your perception changes. You’ll start to enjoy it while others still hate it on you. Only then it makes sense to try out the real stinkers. And actually, Alexandria II and III are not amongst the stinkers - in terms of “barnyard” oud. They are worthwhile, though not for their representation of oud.

What is your most & least worn fragrance (Parfumo Advisor)
by Kurai | Perfume Discussions
...With 77 bottles, I'd say I have a large collection. Although hardcore collectors may disagree. But the thing is, half of the time I pick my SOTD from my "Rarely worn" page, so I have like a 77 bottle cycle and at the same time I change my collection all the time. The other half of the time I live on decants and samples that I wear only once or twice. The tracker goes back all the way to day 1 on Parfumo.

What is your most & least worn fragrance (Parfumo Advisor)
by Kurai | Perfume Discussions
...Ah, I've been systematically tracking this for two and a half year now. During this period, my most worn fragrance is Cabochard (2019) (Eau de Parfum)Cabochard (2019) Eau de Parfum (11 times). I got rid of it, though, so it no longer counts. Of the ones I still own, Miss Dior (Eau de Toilette Originale)Miss Dior Eau de Toilette Originale and Sublime BalkissSublime Balkiss share first place (9 times in 2,5 years). Not a big surprise, though, as these are two of the few fragrances I own since 2021.Most worn in 2023 is Gris Dior / Gris Montaigne (Eau de Parfum)Gris Dior Eau de Parfum with 4 wearsRarely worn.. "Cap Néroli | Parfums de Nicolaï" with 12 months of gathering dust. But it is summer now, so pretty sure that will change soon.

...Hi Anamandy, You can propose a revision in the Research section. Simply hit the Research button on the perfume's page and you can start up a new revision form. Remember every entry needs to be based on a reliable information source. You can add a link and printscreens of the source in the revision form. After your proposal is reviewed and accepted, it will be visible on the perfume's page.

Wheat?
...Here's a few that I could think of:Lann-AëlLann-Aël from a small french brand called LostMarchBriocheBrioche by french indie house Anatole LebretonJeux de peauJeux de peau is a Serge Lutens, so maybe easier to findPastoralPastoral by US based PinewardI must say I have only tried the Lann-Aël one and that one I can say for sure it's close to a wholegrain breakfast cereal with milk and fruit salad on the side. The others are only "heard of".

What Notes Are You Tired of Seeing in Perfumes?
by Kurai | Perfumes & Brands
...One note that I am really getting tired of is Saffron. Even since the BR540 hype it is being used in monstrous amounts and with materials of poor quality.

Green Tea but with a more prominent and longer lasting base?
...I enjoy fragrances with green tea as well. Like you said, the scent is refreshing and relaxed. Most green tea fragrances do not last, simply because the green tea note is so fleeting - as well as the citruses that come with it. I have come across a few nice ones, though, that also lasted longer than average:Wūlóng Chá (Extrait de Parfum)Wūlóng Chá Extrait de Parfum is one of the longest lasting ones in the genre. It is also pretty close to Green Tea (Eau Parfumée)Green Tea Eau Parfumée scent-wise. Unfortunately it is pricey.Thé CachemireThé Cachemire is expensive too, but I think it performs well. It is a bit milder on the citrus and it has a soft amber-musk base.Mediterraneo (Profumo)Mediterraneo Profumo comes close to the Estee Lauder as well. A bit more floral in the end. This can be found for less money than the Nishane or Dior, but it may be harder to find. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Mint, in all her glory
...Here are a few ideas from my side:Menthe FraîcheMenthe Fraîche is a must-try for mint lovers. Too hardcore mint or me personallyRoadster (Eau de Toilette)Roadster Eau de Toilette and Roadster Sport (Eau de Toilette)Roadster Sport Eau de Toilette have a sharp mint note in a generally fresh setting"Tindrer | Baruti" is something different. peppermint and violet - an odd combination, but it works for meGuerlain Homme (Eau de Parfum)Guerlain Homme Eau de Parfum combines mint with florals and patchouli - some people claim it smells like mojito drinksGeranium pour MonsieurGeranium pour Monsieur for a classical geranium with magnified minty tones

Shaking perfumes
by Kurai | Perfume Discussions
...Hi Dionysoss, I don't see any problem with shaking other than the risk of damaging the bottle and especially the sprayer part. I can imagine there is a bit more fluid to air contact when you shake it, but that all happens all within the air-tight container so my guess is that it hardly does any damage.A bigger problem may be the exposure to temperature changes (indoors-outdoors-indoors) and direct sunlight. Those factors are known to really shorten the shelf life of a perfume. If you're out for a longer period of time, my advice would be to decant your perfume into one or more travel sprayers. Hope this helps.

How can i identify this frag type.
...Hi Mitchcraft, What I think the perfumes you mentioned have in common is a large amount of both vanilla and tonka bean. I agree with you that that can get thick and heavy. Especially when there is some sweetness added, which is also the case with those perfumes. But you also mentioned it feels like "pollen" and tonka or vanilla do not really resemble a pollen-like feeling. That could be from floral or aromatic notes like orange blossom or clary sage. Clary sage, or actually a synthetic substitute, is a common ingredient in popular perfumes and it gives me the feeling like it sticks to my throat sometimes. Unfortunately it is not always mentioned in the note pyramid or in the ingredients list.Hope this helps. Cheers!

Perfumes subscriptions... Yes or Nope
by Kurai | Perfume Discussions
...Ah yes I see that a lot these days. I suppose it really depends on the person's wearing habits. I can imagine some people take time to get acquainted with a perfume and wear just that one for a certain period. Me, I never wear the same perfume for two or more days in a row. I wear a fragrance once, maybe re-visit after a few days and then decide to buy or not. Then it may well take a few weeks or months until I wear it again. So personally, I would consider a subscription to surprise samples, but definitely not to larger sizes.
