Usual top scent from Creed, but the performance is abysmal
Scent composition wise, I still think that Creed is top of the game, no doubt. Unfortunately, there is an inverse correlation with its performance.

Today I went to London's Covent Garden Creed shop. I sprayed Absolu and Green Irish Tweed on skin. After 3 hours both of them turned to faint skin scents. Given the price, absolu-tely unacceptable.

If you like this DNA, try Afnan's Collector Edition. The scent is very similar (but a bit fresher) with at least twice the performance. You won't be disappointed.

The Smoky Pinapple is Still There
When the notes for Absolu Aventus were first leaked, I think everyone was confused as to where Aventus' signature pineapple was. How could you have an Aventus flanker without it? Well, I'm here to tell you that it's still there. But I think it's also accurate that it's not a listed note. It's more of a "deconstructed" pineapple. It's got all the sweetness and sourness from the blackcurrant and citrus, the tartness/bitterness from ginger, and the smokiness from vetiver.

The feedback from the fragrance community so far seems to be that this is basically mixing Aventus with Sauvage Elixir . Undoubtedly, it smells similar to Sauvage Elixir; it's got the same cinnamon/cardamom/coumarin/vetiver accord in the drydown. But it feels like some of the more spicy gourmand notes such as the nutmeg and licorice have been swapped for more smokiness. It seems to me that if you stick your nose on the area it is sprayed, it smells just like Sauvage Elixir, but in the air, you definitely get the juicy fruitiness that Aventus is known for.

Though I think it smells great, and probably better than either Sauvage Elixir or Aventus (at least the Aventus of today), it is not worth even close to what they are charging for it. It is far too derivative to command a price over $500.

Undoubtedly, this will be hyped beyond belief and people will be paying outrageous prices for it after it is discontinued. That's just what the Aventus name inspires.

Stocks go up?
I can never quite figure out what is the obsession people have with prices strictly as it relates to Creed. If you're not criticizing other brands for flanker pricing then you might as well not comment on that aspect, especially when there are other brands charging significantly higher markups for their flankers.

On the scent: the opening is unmistakably Aventus-like, but it's really not standard Aventus. It smells sweeter & far more fruitier, like it's "Creed does Cedrat Boise". Then I begin to notice the fougère-type tonalities that are reminiscent of the profiles of Apex Eau de Parfum & Sauvage Elixir . The scent does take another twist once we exit the first 15 minutes or so, beginning to smell like a very plain fruity musk. This part of the profile is reminiscent of the drydown of either "Accento | XerJoff" or "Accento Overdose | XerJoff" (albeit here it is indeed sweeter, but not as sweet as something like Lamar). For anybody unfamiliar with these scents, you could also imagine that the drydown is the original Aventus done a little bit sweeter & muskier without the smoky/green tones.

Make no mistake about it, Absolu Aventus does change the profile of the original sufficiently enough to bring these other aspects in. It certainly does a lot more new than Nishane did with the entirety of their X Collection, or what Roja did with the release of Elysium Eau Intense. But the glaring error of Absolu Aventus is that it misses on the key criticism people have of Aventus, that being performance (as a by-product of batch variance). Absolu completely misses on performance, performing only mildly better than my 21Z01 bottle of Aventus that I previously used as an air freshener for my room until I let my dad have it. Sillage with Absolu Aventus is weak with initial sillage being moderate-to-strong, but then drying down to intimate within 30 minutes. Longevity of the scent is genuinely in the ballpark of 4 hours since it does fade very quickly.

The only people buying this should be Creed loyalists and "investors" purchasing a *possibly limited edition* product to sell to some sucka down the road. If you can scoop this on Black Friday with a discount from somebody with stock, you might even make short-term profits. But that's all this should be - a speculative investment and nothing else.

Better than the OG
It starts with VERY juicy fruits. Even more than Aventus. The pineapple is still there and is very prominent. It is also much sweeter rather than fresh like the OG. The opening is a perfection. I could smell it all the time.
After a few minutes, maybe 10-15 you can smell more and more of the spices but fruits are still very much there. The sweetness is just about perfect. The longer time goes by the more woodier/spicy it gets and fruits fade away.

At this time I even consider it an overall better scent than Aventus. Lately I wear it much more often.
The performance is quite good. Not a killer in any way, but with 8-10 sprays you will smell it on yourself for 8 or more hours. On clothes even a couple of days after.

About the price... I live in EU so I'm gonna speak about it as it is here. You can get it for around 315$ with the newsletter code directly from Creed. It is not even close to the 500$ or 550$ I heard people in the US has to pay. The price is high but you get very nice, well blended, for me even outstanding smell in a nice packaging. It is also a limited edition which probably makes it more pricy just because of that.

I bought 2 bottles and consider buying third just because it smell SOO GOOD.
Try it if you can guys.

Should have called it Aventus Elixir
Lol it's mostly a clone of sauvage elixir, just with pineapple instead of grapefruit at the top and minus the licorice.

The weak disguise of calling this an absolu instead of an elixir is almost comical.

It's not even smelling higher quality (maybe a tiny bit) and it's not even as artistic / daring as the spices are way toned down and more "safe".

It's maybe a bit less screechy, but I think it's kinda part of the charm of sauvage elixir and comes with the brutal performance. Here the performance is more like average.

Fore me the choice is quite easy. I clearly prefer sauvage elixir.

So much money for so little. Riding on Aventus' hype train won't pay off, Sprayed in a mall it was gone before I left the building.

Best Aventus in my opinion. Mature, thicker, more refined and sophisticated. Projection, silage and performance is excellent.

Better quality than the standard Aventus. Feels more fresh and clean with the same DNA. Actually performance is rather decent on my skin.

An Aventus-like DNA (closer to Cedrat Boise) opposed by fresh-spicy-woody masculine aromatic (Sauvage Elixir/Papilefiko) aspects. Just meh.

it does smell a little like sauvage elixir but on close inspection it’s got more stuffs in it, mainly pineapple and cinnamon which to me is amazing!

Delicious opening of citrus fruits. The pineapple in the dry down is heavenly. Projection and longevity is rather poor. Not worth the cost.

Nothing to hate, It’s just another easy to like Aventus. More smoky citrus opening that turns into slightly sweet Aventus. I like it so far.

Basically smells like Creed Aventus mixed with Dior Sauvage Elixir.
Nothing new, nothing ground breaking.
Creed lacks in creativity.

Creed’s attempt to make Aventus a blue fragrance. It’s okay. Middling performance. I’d always reach for the OG over this.
