Absolutely Incredible
I got this at 10:05 AM as soon as it was released in store at my local Sephora. The reviews I've read on this one are the most annoying pieces of work I've ever seen, How can a fragrance be rated a 5/10 before it even drops? This community needs to grow up.
For starters, this is one of the most unique fragrances I've ever smelled. If we are talking uniqueness, especially in the Valentino BIR line, this is a 10/10. I own Coral Fantasy, and Born in Roma Intense, and this is NOTHING compared to any of the other Valentinos. Could you say it smells slightly similar to Intense? Yes. It is a similar DNA after all, but it's not the same and it's not redundant.
The opening hits you with a cozy desert like scent. Very sweet, very warm, and very comforting. It smells like a warm and sweet lavender milk. But after about 15-30 seconds it hits you, that "Fire" note and the woods that rest beneath it. Is it like Maison Margiela's By The Fireplace? No. But I can see you wearing this in the same settings as that. It smells absolutely incredible, and I can't express that enough. I almost want to purchase another bottle because I know this will sell out fast. Powdery, Sweet, Gourmand Desert, sitting right by a Fireplace. THAT is what this is.
As for longevity, it's hard to tell right now. I do get some intense projection for the first hour, but it slowly pulls in to a more intimate scent. But not a full skin scent. This is perfection for a winter night out, or a date night. Heck, even cuddled up with your loved one in the winter watching a Hallmark movie haha. I got about 6 hours of total longevity on my first wear, but it's a VERY VERY real possibility I just went nose blind because this is the type of scent that will do that to you.
All this being said, it's a limited edition, it smells remarkable, and the bottle is beautiful. If you can fork up the money, go out and buy it. You'll love it. The hate for this as of right now is completely unjustified and the community needs to get better with that. Just because you can't afford a fragrance, or personally can't justify the price, doesn't mean it's a bad fragrance. This is a beautiful masterpiece and you should make a move on it quickly.
