Clean, Calm, Timeless
I really didn’t like it at first. Honestly, I bought it only because the price was too good to ignore.
I wasn’t looking for a Coco Mademoiselle dupe. Not at all. But after reading so many reviews, the comparison just kept coming back. I used CM about 20 years ago, and yes, I still remember it. Very clearly. My nose hasn’t forgotten it.
I’m trying to judge this one on its own.
First spray is a bit sharp. Slightly weird. I remember thinking: okay, this is not great.
It does calm down pretty fast though. Still, after the first wear I noticed something… off. A strange, slightly yeasty note. And I was annoyed. Maybe even angry. At the scent, and at myself. Probably a bad moment. Or bad skin day. Who knows.
I almost sold it.
Then I didn’t. I thought, let’s wait a few days. Try again when I’m calmer, less stressed. Different mood.
I sprayed it at night. And this time it was… different. Very calming, actually. That odd yeasty, sour note was gone. Or maybe it transformed. What came instead was something warmer. A little sexy. Slightly animalic. Not loud, just quietly attractive.
That’s when I started to like it.
Now I’m even thinking about ordering another bottle, just in case. Funny how that happens.
I do get patchouli in it, but it’s not the fancy kind. I usually love deep, earthy, slightly dirty, almost hippie patchouli. That kind grounds me. Here it’s more restrained. A bit bitter. A grounding note, nothing more. The whole thing feels slightly damp, woody, with floral and fruity touches mixed in.
I think it works well during the day. Easy, comfortable. Sometimes it feels fresh, other times more elegant, but still light. At night it can be calming. And somehow it can feel sporty too. Depends on the moment, I guess.
I don’t connect it to Coco Mademoiselle anymore. For me, it stands on its own. Easy to wear. Timeless.
Very much a “just stepped out of the shower” kind of scent. Clean. Awake. Clear.
I’m glad I kept it.
