Underrated
Ajmal is another one of the Arab copy specialists, that's for sure, but behind Lattafa, its subsidiaries and Al Haramain, it remains slightly underrated. And so does this perfume which I suspect is an original.
Original or not though, what a gem!
I'm so impressed and happy. I have few truly beastmode perfumes, few that can carry their scent around throughout the whole busy day or over my clothes for over a week.
The scent is distinctly but sweetly animalic, not the poo poo kind, but a musky smooth kind. Luckily the leather is not spicy, but creamy.
The opening hits you with a small yummy fruit basket underlined by an animalic profile. The oud gives a bitterness to it, reminiscent of an unripe grapefruit.
As it evolves, the bitter leather is softened further by smooth sweet florals. The slightly gouand sweetness pairs up well with the animalic profile, leaving you throughout the day feeling like you dotted yourself with quality attar.
Goodness... I'm really not even joking, for the price it's worth having even if it's not your favorite scent profile.
