So, it's about time that a lance for DARK is broken here, or rather a bar of chocolate.

Some time ago I ordered a sample set of Akro (to Smoke and Malt comes a comment) and was more than enthusiastic about the concept.
Combining fabric-bound "addictions" with perfume addiction is brilliant!
But now to DARK. Where Chocolate Greedy gave me not only a headache but also a toothache, here the chocolate is dark and bitter.
I can't do anything at all with gourmands, but here DARK shows his strength. The fragrance starts, very dry and warm. You can literally taste the fine dark chocolate. But already in the heart note the indicated sweetness disappears and makes room for the dry wood.
Even at 25° really wearable! Performance's okay. I was able to perceive it on my arm for about 4 hours. No outstanding performance, for a ml price of 1.20 but quite okay!

I recommend the scent to anyone who wants to try a portable, not annoying chocolate scent.

Immediately after spraying, 'Dark' is spicy, unsweet and very intense. But already after a few minutes the scent of good dark chocolate is peeling out.

I can smell something earthy from time to time. But that doesn't diminish the good impression I have of the chocolate.

After a good two hours, I add a pleasant sweetness to the dark chocolate and a resinous vanilla, too. In this phase I like 'Dark' very much.

In the next two hours, however, the chocolate disappears more and more and the vanilla becomes very intense, too intense as I think. This does not change until the end. And he comes very late.

Because 'Dark' has a durability that even survived the evening shower. And also the charisma is very powerful over eight hours.

I like Dark very much in itself, but I only see the possibility to use it in my spare time and in the evening. Best at cold and cool temperatures.

Aptly-named: dark, semi-sweet chocolate, with some intrigue

Akro Dark is one of the original six fragrances released from the Olivier Cresp-led brand in 2018, a well-named gourmand blend featuring dark chocolate with pinches of hazelnut, cinnamon, and vanilla. It manages to not be too sweet while having an air of mystery to it, something non-gourmand in what is clearly a mostly-gourmand element, so I like the name “Dark” for it since it is not hugely descriptive. Admittedly, I do not like it quite as much as the coffee-centric Awake but it’s still very well done. It’s quite rich and the performance seems to be pretty strong, perhaps slightly better than Awake.

Dark, like the rest of the brand, has EDP concentration and is sold in the US via Luckyscent (where I got my dabber sample) at $160 for 100ml, though it is also sold directly through its website, where there is a $80 for 30ml option as well.

A damn treat

I didn’t think it’s possible but I actually now quite over the moon for a chocolate-inspired fragrance. Akro Dark is not a decadent, foody chocolate in the least, but rather a dry, dusty, woody interpretation of cocoa. But it’s not some austere, unapproachable thing; it’s somehow both rich and restrained while also being intoxicatingly cozy, like the combination of a bittersweet cocoa nib-speckled cardigan and the earthy musk of a patchouli stitched afghan, while warming your toes in soft, smoky vanilla firelight. This is a composition that exemplifies the elegance to be found in simple pleasures when executed thoughtfully, creatively, and while also holding something back. With chocolate scents, I think perfumers tend toward a hyper-gourmand “more is more” philosophy, throwing every decadent, delectable note at their disposal into the mix, but Dark’s appeal, at least for me, is in its’ pared-down, gorgeous simplicity. You don’t smell like a ridiculous dessert, you just smell like a damn beautiful treat.

Chocolat...non cacao

Ce parfum n est pas un énième chocolat classique et sucré,pas du tout.
Ici nous avons un cacao sec,merveilleusement épicé.c est sombre mais très réconfortant en même temps.
Je l adore,le premier que j' ai découvert de la marque et le premier acheté. Aucun regret ce parfum a tout ce qu il faut pour lui.
L équilibre est parfait.
